Gaza City – A deadly Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank has provoked grief and anger in Gaza. Rockets have been fired into Israel, and hundreds of Palestinians have taken part in vigils and rallies to condemn what they describe as a “massacre”.

After nine Palestinians were killed in Israel’s raid on Thursday in Jenin, armed groups in Gaza declared a state of high alert, calling the incursion “a new Israeli crime” against the Palestinian people.

Khader Habib, an Islamic Jihad spokesperson, said in statement that the Palestinian people had been “subjected to unprecedented killings and attacks by the new Israeli government in all parts of the West Bank amid the complete absence of international intervention”.

We were warned that the latest fascist Israeli administration was blood-crazed. This, if it comes, will be a deliberate war, calculated to kill as many Palestinian civilians as possible.

'Israel announces drastic measures, as if so far it had used the carrot instead of the stick.
The only measures to be taken are the end of the occupation, the apartheid regime, the violations of international law, the siege on Gaza.
The useful measure would be to dismantle illegal settlements like the one where yesterday’s attack occurred and no longer keep Palestinians locked up inside refugee camps on their land.
The so-called international community, instead of beating its chests and crying intermittently, should think of its enormous responsibilities: first of all, that of standing still to watch hundreds of people killed, children arrested, women insulted and beaten, fishermen shot at sight, farmers kicked out of their lands, and so much and more yet .
You granted the most complete impunity to your outpost in the Middle East even when it became a crazy splinter, and now you talk about peace, but never about justice.'
