“The Boeing 747-8 being offered to U.S. President Donald Trump by Qatar has been sitting unsold for years.”

“The jet, a lavishly configured version of Boeing's largest passenger aircraft, has been lingering without a buyer since being put up for sale in 2020”

“Despite its luxury interior, the plane has failed to find a buyer since being put on the market in 2020, according to a report from Forbes.”
“Ben Schlappig, writing in the aviation blog One Mile at a Time in 2020, said the aircraft offered to Trump had flown 1,069 hours since its delivery in 2012, averaging about two hours per week.“

Pretty funny, Qatar is dumping on Trump a plane nobody wanted

Here’s hoping he takes the gift and spends the estimated millions to have it refurbished, just give the Democrats further proof of Trump’s disregard for the Constitution or precedent

It’s a carrot, easiest way to get Trump’s attention is to butter him up, especially if it means you can dump an albatross at the same time, too bad Zelensky didn’t understand the protocol

Other than all the self congratulatory PR, trip accomplished nearly nothing, no detailed deals, nothing ratified in treaties, zip set in stone, although I’m sure Trump’s businesses made out like bandits, he didn’t drag along Junior just for accompaniment

A lot cheaper than purchasing a plane along with doing the very same refurbishing/prep work that would be necessary anyway.

Nah, it is still a million dollar gift, which the Constitution says if even considered has to be approved by Congress, and the fact Trump thinks he deserves it makes even more dangerous, just imagine the precedent set going forward

Right, we know, the Department of Defense is going to own it, Qatar “gifted” to Trump, Trump is the only one to fly in it, and Trump gets to take it home when he exits, but it isn’t Trump’s plane, lots of exPresidents got to leave DC with Air Force One

Right. It's not Trump's plane. The DoD will utilize it, then it will become a part of the presidential library.
