Nobody 'fought for the flag'. Until the early 70's, kids had no choice. After the draft ended the military was nothing more than a job choice. For many, it was about the benefits after they put in a few years during our decades of peace.

Fighting 'for the flag' is an idiotic notion. Now if you said 'fighting for oil', you would be more correct.

you have a short memory. Our history clearly shows soldier rallying around and fighting for the flag.

Further your description of today's volunteer army as "nothing more then a job choice" shows why you don't take offense at the offense of disrespecting the flag
