I find it very funny when the same people who said that Jenna Bush's arrest for underage drinking was off limits for the media to mention are on a full rant about President Obama's daughter going to Mexico for Spring Break.

Up until this little rant of your own, I had heard nothing about Obama's daughter. Did she have a good time?

She's like, twelve. I hope she ain't drinking on "Spring Break" (using quotes here to signify that I'm talking about the college phenomenon where kids go some place warm and get drunk and sleep with hot Southern co-eds and piss off douchey Southern college dudes by sleeping with said Southern co-eds and by buying the DJ a couple of beers and slipping him $20 to play New York, New York by Frank Sinatra, not because you are form New York but because you are a "Yankee" and you know that it will thoroughly piss off said douchey Southern college dudes as you entertain their ladyfriends -- not that I know anything about that). And if she is, that would be, like, fair game. As in, What the fuck kind of parents are the Obamas letting their 12 year old rage at "Spring Break" in Mexico.

Obama and his media lap dogs removed any mention of it from the news.

The AFP, the Huffington Post and other websites have scrubbed a report about first daughter Malia Obama's Spring Break vacation.

On Monday, the AFP reported that Obama's daughter was vacationing abroad, along with a number of friends and 25 Secret Service agents. The story was picked up by Yahoo, the Huffington Post, and the International Business Times, as well as UK publications like the Daily Mail and the Telegraph and other overseas publications like The Australian.

But on Monday night, the story had been removed from those sites .The AFP page for the story now links to a story titled "Senegal music star Youssou Ndour hits campaign trail," as does the Yahoo page. The Huffington Post page now links directly back to the Huffington Post homepage. The Daily Mail, Telegraph, and Australian stories now lead to 404 error pages, reading "page not found." The International Business Times story also links to the IBT homepage, though a version of the original story still exists here.

A spokesperson at the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment, though given the late hour that can be forgiven. I will update here if and when I hear back from the White House, and when I hear back from spokespeople with the various websites and news agencies.

UPDATE: Kristina Schake, Communications Director to the First Lady, emails to confirm this was a White House effort:
From the beginning of the administration, the White House has asked news outlets not to report on or photograph the Obama children when they are not with their parents and there is no vital news interest. We have reminded outlets of this request in order to protect the privacy and security of these girls.

Don't remember the media doing the same for Bush's daughters.

I had no idea that Obama's daughter was going to Mexico for Spring Break. I believe that you seem to be the only person who has "ranted" about this anywhere that I have seen in any context.

For one, Glen Beck dedicated his entire three hour show to it today!

so are you saying that we paid for 25 Secret Service agents so a 12 year old could go to Mexico without her parents?.....

You have a problem with that? If her parents went I can guaranfuckingtee you that a smidge more than 25 would have gone.

But, more generally, she doesn't have to refrain from participating in the activities of her friends just because her Dad is president. You don't get to decide what she is allowed to do. The fact that the government pays people to protect her does not mean that she has to curtail her activities in any way.

Thanks for admitting you are one of the brain dead morons that keeps Glen Beck on the air by listening to him... and you did so for three hours??? Business must suck for you.

what decent parent lets their 12 year old go to mexico? I can guaranfuckingtee you that if the average person let their 12 year old go to mexico, we'd be hearing about what crappy parents they were.

See what I mean?

No...wtf are you babbling about? Nobody heard about it until now....

Whats a 12 old going to Mexico with a few friends and 25 SS Agents, and costing the taxpayers a bundle of money...(money wasted) have to do with
raving about an underage drinking bust that is about 10 years past.....and was fair game for the media and wasn't squashed by the then President Bush...

What assumptions are you operating under w/r/t the details of this trip? Are you assuming that she is going on an unchaperoned, unsupervised trip with just her friends and a bunch of SS personnel? Because otherwise I don't understand your criticism of the Obamas' parenting.
