The Bible says it was six days... and she's going to stick with that. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning, the first day.

To me that's talking about the Big Bang and "day" is an irrelevant measure to such a being, but to my mother that was the beginning of day one, just before he said "Let there be light"...

The first 500 Million or so years after the Big Bang there was no light, the stars had not ignited... But to mom, that was probably just an hour or so before he said, "Let there be light" and there was light....

Anyway, what it says there, she believes. One day, big bang, light, night then sunrise and that was the first day... it was "good"...

Well matter is neither created nor destroyed so... perhaps she is giving into confrontational bias.
