Jane Fonda calls for Pro-Life politicians to be “murdered” on The View

I have always admired and respected her very much.

Why?

Because the commie bitch sat on an enemy(commie) anti-aircraft gun that was used to target Americans

You mean an anti-aircraft gun that was used to defend against a foreign invader from the other side of the world?

Tell me, volsrock, did I see you in Vietnam? What did you look like?

Nazi Germany was using anti-aircraft guns to defend against foreign invaders also!

With the one minor difference that Nazi Germany declared war on us first!

OK I give u that

So u do not support US Government helping Ukraine with weapons etc? Russia has not declared war on us...we should be neutral...right

Since u didnt support us helping South Vietnam

Wonder what would be the reaction if an actor today went and took pics with Russian troops in Ukraine? Would u admire that actor?

South Vietnam was ruled by a corrupt government, and at least half of the population, seemingly more, wanted to unify the nation under communism as a relief from that corruption.
That, as I assume you know, was what the South Vietnamese Viet Cong was all about.

We were basically interfering with another nation's civil war, and that nation, either unified or divided, presented no threat to America whatsoever.

We were an unwelcome foreign invader, plain and simple, and I was coerced by our government to participate in a war that made no sense to most rational people.
I had the political connections to get out of it, actually.
Then I'd have lived the rest of my life knowing that somebody else went in my place.

I see lots and lots of war veteran baseball caps and license plates. I'm entitled to have that swag too, you know.
There's nothing inherently wrong with it. I'm not claiming anything like that.
It's just wrong for me.

One, I take no pride in my participation in that gruesomely bloody fiasco, which we ultimately lost anyway. I was a draftee and did what I was told.
Second, almost everyone who does wear or display that stuff is light years to the right of me politically.
That's also their prerogative to be sure.
Still, I'd in effect be misrepresenting myself, even though i did serve,
wearing and displaying stuff like that.

My dad participated in the most justifiable war in the history of humanity, WWII.
Ukraine is not in a civil war. Ukraine was attacked by Russia, just as Poland was attacked by Nazi Germany.
I can't think of any way to compare Ukraine with Vietnam.

What a person does to make a statement can be justifiable or repugnant, depending on context.
If Jane took pics with Russian soldiers, I'd take a totally different view.
What she did in North Vietnam wasn't particularly admirable either, but it was a poorly thought out way to protest a protectable war.
