I thought it was disgusting and people that physically attacked capitol police should get some prison time. People that just trespassed should be fined and given probation. People that tore things up should be given 3-6 months fines and forced to pay for the damage.

I'm just saying, the Democrats are going zero for three on trying to impeach Trump, and this third time won't be a charm because nobody gives a shit about Jan 6 except those with terminal TDS.
I could care less about Trump. I want to make that clear. The Jan 6 committee hearings will fail miserably, and Trump has nothing to do with that. It does have to do with nobody giving a shit about that riot or what most people already consider a witch hunt by Democrats.

The Jan. 6 Committee television show will be, like the Russia collusion hoax before it, itself an illegitimate attempt to sidestep the democratic process and ensure that Trump and other Republicans will be sufficiently hobbled by unfair charges so as to alter the outcome in 2024. Even if public opinion outside of deep blue enclaves won’t buy it, they have a not unreasonable hope that it will be just the thing to push Garland into a banana republic-style effort to jail Biden’s competition.

It isn't you that the Jan 6 committee has to convince, it's people like me and that's very unlikely to happen. I fully expect the same kind of farce Schitt and company delivered in the first two impeachment attempts. If Trump truly needed removing from office and being able to run, I'd be onboard with this, but his being a bloviating asshole and self-aggrandizing braggard doesn't qualify as reasons to do that.

As I said previously, doubtful, it, along with the Final Report in the Fall and SCOTUS decisions this summer will mobilize Democrats, and sway some Independents, but by itself will be forgotten in two weeks, just the way it is these days with the 24/7 news cycle
