Jamiel Shaw was killed by an illegal Mexican within 24 hours of the Mexican's release from jail for assault. The California authorities refused to enforce their own law to turn the illegal Mexican over to the immigration authorities. Arizona law would have prevented this unforunate situation, yet the Las Angeles County authorities call for a boycott of Arizona because of the Arizona law. How stupid can the authorities in California be? The Stringbean libertarians who unrightfully complain about the Arizona law are foistering this stupidity upon poor, innocent citizens like Jamiel Shaw. Where is Stringbean on this?

But Stringbean, think, you are so opposed to the Arizona law, but if California had the Arizona law, and if the authorities had followed that law one young black football player slated to play for a major college football power would still be alive and could possibly attain his goal. Instead, an illegal Mexican killed the young black football player. The illegal Mexican had been released less than 24 hours before killing the young black man based upon the reasoning that the California authorities were not OBLIGATED to turn the illegal Mexican over to ICE. Now, are you still so opposed to Arizona's law that would have prevented this totally unmeritable death? Had this illegal Mexican entered the U.S. legally and overstayed his legal residence or whether he entered the U.S. illegally, the young football player would still be alive. And, by the way, U.S. immigration authorities can stop a person and ask for his identity and his right to be in the U.S. based upon such things as profiling. In addition, the U.S. immigration authorities can stop a person for no apparent reason. The Arizona law does not permit either of these actions. If this is so, why aren't you as vocal about U.S. immigration law as you are of the Arizona law?
I agree with you completely. But, there is one other libertarian here that I refer to as Stringbean who has made a very tenuous and in my opinion totally unjustified argument as to the illegality of the Arizona law. I just wanted to know if Stringbean was appreciative of the fact that if California had the Arizona law, and if California authorities had followed that law, the illegal Mexican would have been retained and deported. And, one young black football player would have been able to seek his ambition on the football field instead of being planted six feet under the sod.

I would like to add that certain mayors of cities (such as San Fran, Houston, and many others), should be brought to trial for their self declared sanctuary status that has resulted in the same "end result" that you speak of here!
