Jaguar sales crater a shocking 98% after ‘woke’ rebrand, EV pivot

Sure. That must be why China has sales of 1 million EVs a month.
They are so far out of it compared to you. If only the Chinese government hadn't banned ICE vehicles they would sell so much better because they are more expensive to buy, own and drive than the EVs in China.
Europe and America aren't Communists like China is. The CCP can demand everyone go electric.

China has imposed a 40% of all vehicle sales by 2030 will be EV mandate on the country. Currently all car manufacturers in China have to produce at least 4% EV's or they're out-of-business. The Chinese government gives out big tax credits (aka bribes) to buy and EV. The CCP also heavily subsidizes EV manufacturing.

Without the government forcing EV's on the population, as I stated, nobody in China would be buying them either.

China is slowly banning ICE vehicles and forcing EV's on the population. That's the ONLY way they can get EV's to be adopted. Norway, the leader in EV adoption, along with much of Europe has done the same thing to one degree or another. People don't want EV's and the ONLY way to mainstream them is force of government.

Topping off other loser properties of EV's is that they have shitty resale values.

  • A recent study showed that the average price of an EV fell 31.8% in the past year compared to just 3.6% for internal combustion engine vehicles.
  • The fast depreciation rate could dissuade car buyers from choosing EVs over combustion engine vehicles.
  • The price war in the new EV market could continue to suppress prices for their used counterparts.

EVs typically lose more than $5,700 per year, for the first five years on average, and will end up costing owners about $28,500 in five years. Compare this to a gas-powered car, which typically loses less than $3,200 per year or $16,000 over five years. The reality is that for most EV owners, depreciation is an expense that has to be factored into your purchase decision.

Just think... You buy a new EV taking out a loan to do so. The second you drive it off the lot you're deep underwater in the value of your brand-new car. That means you either buy gap insurance to cover the loss in value, or you slap down a whopping huge down payment to prevent that from happening.

If you lease instead, the payments are higher because the leaser knows they won't get jack in resale value when the lease ends. They have to make up that loss by making you pay more up front.

Jaguars used to be beautiful.
I loved them when I was a kid.
Now, like virtually everything else, they look like shit.

Due to environmental necessity, more than likely, the automobile industry
has been totally emasculated.

For all their fancy and even useful electronic gadgetry,
the cars are garbage. Despite not having frames anymore,
they're made of plastic and foil.

You just have to breathe on them and they crumple.

They have less style than an enema bag.

And the beautiful roar of a big V8 engine has all but passed into history.

We could still be bombing around in huge, powerful, beautiful cars
if we had kept our population down to where the planet could handle it.

Instead, not enough people threw a bag on it
and we've got so many fucking people
that our standard of living
has to go to complete shit
if we want to survive.

Why even bother?

Why have kids at all
when we know what kind of numbingly dull lives
that they're going to have to endure?

Jaguar sales crater a shocking 98% after ‘woke’ rebrand, EV pivot

Jaguar sales in Europe plunged a shocking 97.5% following a botched rebrand that included a commercial featuring men in skirts to announce its upcoming pivot toward an all-electric fleet — but the cars have yet to arrive at dealerships.

The luxury British automaker registered just 49 vehicles in Europe in April, compared with 1,961 vehicles in the same month last year, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

Sales between January and April plummeted 75.1%, with just 2,665 cars sold across the continent.

The stunning decline comes after Jaguar rolled out a controversial ad last November that featured non-binary models wearing a rainbow of colors with slogans like “Copy Nothing” and “Live Vivid” — but excluded any images of its sleek sports cars as it touted its transition to a fully electric, ultra-luxury company.

“Jaguar’s transformation towards a new portfolio of pure-electric vehicles was announced as part of the Reimagine strategy in 2021,” a Jaguar spokesman told The Post after the publication of this story.

So go woke and go broke strikes again.

What do you care? You'll never be able to afford one!

lol. Geebus...

That should have just been one ad among many instead of replacing all ads and "rebranding". Sales will plummet if you stop trying to attract the people who spend money on the thing you are advertising.
That crazy Jaguar ad didn't even have a car in it. And it didn't have a human that most people want to identify with.

They don't.

EVs in China, manufactured by the Chinese government, are currently sitting in huge waste dumps.
You forget that money velocity in China is near zero.

Ah, no, could care less of anything regarding Jaguar, as could probably 99.9% of the rest of the world, you seem to be the only one concerned
Ah yes that is exactly their problem. They went too woke. Jaguar would be ecstatic to sell cars to .01% of the world's population. That would be over 800,000 cars. They only sold 49 in all of Europe in April.
