Wrong about half. Republicans constitute a third of the voting public and only half of them want Trump...the dumbassed half. Poorly educated, not too bright and more than a little wacky. Still, only about 15% of American voters...and I think that number will drop the more mass shootings of innocent Americans that occur. T. A. I don't think it's only MAGA that wants unfettered access to guns. For the most part, most avid gun owners who are typical NRA members all claim the 'slippery slope' defense when even the most modest regulations are proposed. I'm sure that includes plenty of Independents and Democrats.

Although, only my R voting friends are too paranoid to go anywhere without a gun.

Agreed on MAGAts. A slight disagreement on the slippery slope defense since Democrats can't be trusted on guns. The Republicans did it before and got burned by Bill Clinton. Never Again.

I've asked several Gun Control Democrats that if Obama's Gun ban bill in 2013 had passed if they would be satisfied it resolved the gun issue or if it was just a "good first step". Not a single one of them answered the question. Why? Because the answer is obvious; they see it as a good first step.

While ARs are exotic and scary, the primary killer of Americans is the handgun. 2/3s of them are suicides, but Gun Grabbers don't like admitting that part very much. Any good Gun Grabber wants to ban handguns if they truly want stop "gun violence". Not a single one of them puts better Mental Healthcare as their top priority to stopping gun violence.

Is there any doubt most suicides are mental illness? The mass shootings by young people wearing body armor and committing mass murder of innocent Americans are examples of mental illness? Notice most mass shooters commit suicide after their murders. In the case of Payton Gendron, he tried but lacked the spine to eat his own gun.
 
I'm going to put the gun argument away for a moment, because this shooting is a reflection of something entirely more sinister. It is the latest in a LONG line of lone wolf shooters who are parroting right wing rhetoric as justification for killing people and groups that have been singled out by the right. Dylan Roof kills nine. The Pittsburgh Synagogue. The nutty bomber. The El Paso Walmart. The Buffalo shooting. Paul Pelosi. The guy hanging out at the Obamas. The guy that tried to shoot up the FBI office.

And hate crimes against gays and transgenders are way up.

This is a direct result of the hateful rhetoric of Donald Trump and his supporters. It needs to be stopped now.
