There will always be a need for a sane, sober conservative POV. Since Newt, the Republican Party has killed that viewpoint in their own party. It's clearly absent from the Democratic Party. The Libertarian party is small and has a high looney toon to member ratio, but it's platform is much closer to a truly conservative party than either of the major parties.
I plan on voting another straight Libertarian ticket for the foreseeable future since both parties are far too Federalist for my tastes.
