I've been skeptical Trump would get charged... thats changing.

I just saw on television that only one president ever has been investigated by a grand jury, and that is Donald Trump. Nixon would have been investigated by a grand jury but he had been pardoned by that point.

Interesting that I wrote this post at 3 PM, and by 630 the Washington post was reporting that President Trump was officially under investigation by the Justice department.

Until recently I have not seen much that would indicate any of the prosecutors in the various investigations were working toward charging Trump or any of his cronies with serious crimes however that has changed in the last few days.

The NYT today published a trove of emails about the fake elector scheme indicating that many involved not only understood it the plan was likely illegal, but that they did it anyway. The writers of the emails and planners of the "fake elector scheme" even referred to the electors as "fake" and discussed how to try to keep them hidden from Congress so they would have the element of suprise when they tried to get them pushed in to position so they could supplant the real electors.

I suspect Rudy and some of Trumps lawyers will be indicted, and if there is any link to Trump, he is going to get it also.

Additionally, the fact that a Federal Grand Jury subpoenaed Pence's Chief of Staff and the fact that he did not fight the subpoena but instead spent 8 hours testifying is something that would very much concern me if I was Trump or part of his inner circle in the days going onto January 6.

I am finally seeing how this might unfold and that some groundwork toward serious indictments is being laid down.
It’s probably a long shot. Too many dots to connect.
If nothing else it weakens him for the Republican nomination.

And you still can't name a crime or specifics, dumbass.

"Some of the participants also expressed approval in the emails for keeping some of their activities out of the public eye.
For instance, after Mr. Trump hosted Pennsylvania state legislators at the White House in late November to discuss reversing the election outcome..." - NYT

Bruce Marks, (A lawyer for the campaign) in an email to the NYT, distanced himself from the plan to persuade Pence to decertify the electors... “I had no involvement with Professor Eastman’s advice regarding the vice president’s role, which I only learned about after the fact, and do not support.”

The January 6th Committee has also heard testimony from Mr. Jacob, who was Mr. Pence’s counsel in the White House, that Mr. Eastman admitted in the Jan. 4 Oval Office meeting — with Mr. Trump present — that his plan to have Mr. Pence obstruct the electoral certification violated the Electoral Count Act.

Fiction isn't going to work, dude.

I am just reading about it, the snowball is growing fast. I think it’s more likely now than I thought it was when I started this thread a few hours ago.

The Washington post article, and now I’m reading about Garland’s interview.

Meh.
