It's Going Down In Wisconsin

As I stated, the bill did nothing but create more bureaucracy.

This is EXACTLY how our founding fathers governed. They believed transactions with We, the People must follow the rule of what a REAL free market is. No one can get rich by making other people poor.

I don't really get that last comment. You like baseball. If I'm battling someone else for a last roster spot and I get it I get at worse a MLB minimum salary which is around $400K. The other person is either out of a job or say gets sent to Triple A where he makes barely enough to survive on. Wouldn't that qualify as me getting richer while making another man poorer?

[sarcasm]Yes Cawacko, but sports are designed unfairly benefitting those of better physical ability and skill...whether those abilities and skills come from natural talent or hard work ethic...it is still unfair that those less able and less skilled can't play professionally.[/sarcasm]

then i need to sue to be the Colts QB. i'm just as human and equal as peyton manning.

Here's another tidbit:

The nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau (LFB) concluded that the state would end the year with a surplus, so there is no need for a budget repair bill. Walker disputes those numbers, so he has submitted a budget repair bill that would strip collective bargaining rights from most state workers. Walker has excluded employees whose unions endorsed him in the 2010 election. ref

This guy is scum...

That is it EXACTLY!

The police, fire fighters and state troopers unions were exempted specifically because they endorsed the new Governor.

No, that is fair competition. What I'm talking about is unethical behavior. If the other guy pulled a Tonya Harding and whacked you across your hands before you go to the plate.

it's sad bo ho, teachers getting lavish benefits cut. Guess what we are all getting our SS cut. And if your in the public sector or not in the top 20% corp sector your pension too will likely be goughed.

Please...explain in detail some of the "lavish" benefits Wisconsin teachers get.

and this is why I said it's a shitty bill that needs to have them added. no exclusions.

that said, I'm still on the 'fire them ALL', cops included, and start hiring the unemployed civilians. i'll bet they'll take a paycheck and buy their own bennies

SO...the government must PUNISH those who don't march in lock step with their dictum.

That authoritarian urge ALWAYS comes out from you folks on the right...

not having to pay for them out of your own paycheck is a big one. I'd love to get all kinds of bennies at someone elses expense.

While I would agree that is indeed a "nice" benefit and possibly worthy of renegotiation, I certainly wouldn't call it "lavish" considering what our elected officials get upon retirement. How much do our elected officials contribute to their retirement to grave full coverage healthcare?

the elected officials benefits are criminal, that's another topic.
Them having to pay into the pension and hc to a small degree is not asking much.

authoritarian? ME?!?!?!? LOL

it's not a punishment. The unions, especially the police unions, have put a stranglehold on the state budget with their demands. The rest of the state is hurting and it has a 2 year/3.5 BILLION dollar budget shortfall. you're not squeezing any more out of the tax payers, especially with unemployment as high as it is. They need to sacrifice also and if they can't do that, then the rest of the population needs to demand they be fired.

Then how about you start by asking those at the TOP of the earnings ladder to demonstrate their commitment by putting up the way they expect teachers to put up?

and from what i'm hearing, that's what this is all about. having them pay for part of their benefits.

I'm all for making them pay part of theirs also.

do they not pay for their own benefits? or do the tax payers pay for those at the TOP of the earnings ladder?

Well, since there is no way a person who serves a couple 4 year terms in Congress can pay in enough over the those years to fund his lavish retirement benefits, I suggest we start there.

You are such a complete hack. Over the past ten years the Dems haven't reached out. They have compromised.... WITHIN their own party. They shut Reps out of any and all discussion for the last two years. They were the 'party of no' when it was Bush and the Reps in charge.

Side note... you might want to take a look at who is really a fat cat wall street protector. You might be surprised to find, it isn't just Reps protecting wall Street. The Dems just passed a 'financial regulation bill' that did NOTHING to prevent the exact same shit from happening again. They protected their wall street and hedge fund friends at every turn. They did not re-implement Glass Steagall. They did not get the SEC to put the uptick rule back in place. They did not hammer the SEC on naked short selling violations. they did nothing.... except create more bureaucracy.
