Mott the Hoople

So, what do you think was more incompetent in Harding's administration: The economic recovery or his initiatives to expand Indian rights and combat lynching? I guess his arms reduction talks were pretty naive. Also, he should have left Debbs in prison instead of pardoning him.
Well there were his own words;
"I am not fit for this office and should never have been here."
His administration was the most corrupt;
Teapot Dome: Secretary of the Interior Albert Fall accepted huge bribes so private companies could pump oil out of fields reserved for the Navy. Fall was the first member of a presidential cabinet convicted for his corruption. Edwin Denby, the Secretary of the Navy, resigned.
Attorney General Harry Daugherty resigned after one of his aides was implicated in a bootlegging scheme. The aide committed suicide, but Daugherty was found not guilty.
Director of the Veterans Bureau Charles R. Forbes defrauded the government of hundreds of millions of dollars through bid-rigging and cost inflation on construction of medical facilities, as well as selling off stockpiled medical and other supplies at huge discounts to friends.
Office of Alien Property head Thomas Miller was convicted of patent fraud and accepting bribes.
Also his pardoning Debs and his support of a bill making lynching a federal crime were his greatest contributions to our Res Publica. Debs imprisonment by Wilson was a vile and disgusting act, not to mention one of the most egregious attacks ever on our first amendment rights, that will remain forever a permanent stain on Wilson's reputation.
