It's about teaching the children... to be good little pinhead protesters!

What a hoot. I guess it was okay for these kids to go to the Rhode Island state capital and hold up their signs. It's only bad when liberals do it.

Of COURSE it's okay for those kids...they are protesting the "right" cause in conservatives eyes...

Just as long as children don't protest for anything a liberal might support!

It directly affects the students. Who is to say one is sufficiently informed before protesting?

Taking away the right to negotiate wages is union busting.
Actually, by being given the right to quit the union, individuals now have the right to negotiate salaries themselves. The only entity that lost rights are the unions themselves, which are corporations. Since when are liberals in favor of corporate rights over individual rights?

another whiny christiefan post that ignores your liberals doing worse...you completely ignore his multiple threads about me...yet you hound for making a post in this thread

 you're as bad as rana

How many posters are you going to accuse of being Legion?

What threads (multiple) did Dune post about you?

Maybe you and your wackjob pals shouldn't have started in on the guy within days of his joining the board. He gave practically an entire bio and you guys still whaled on him. You (pl.) began by hinting he was a troll, and then the thread went to 13 pages of all your stupid accusations.

Your obsessed pals even decided at one point that Dune is Rana or me.

One of the mods posted a screen shot of Legion's other names on the IP and Dune wasn't on it. I guess even that much proof doesn't cut it with you.

Conclusion: You are OBSESSED.

That's what happens, though - especially in the current era of the 24x7 news coverage.

A right-wing blog says "teachers took their students from class to protest." Other right-wing blogs & sites parrott the claim. Soon, it's "the buzz," and it starts to get reported as fact on a certain level. Not straight reporting, but something like "we're hearing reports that...", or "it's rumored that..."

Before you know it, it's part of history - teachers are indoctrinating children into the liberal religion!

Remember when Obama traveled overseas, immediately some ridiculous newsrag in India reported the cost as $1.2 Billion dollars a day and Righties just RAN WITH IT even though there was no proof to back their claims?

That joke Michelle Bachmann was ALL OVER THE NETWORKS making the claim and when anyone asked for proof, she simply offered the Indian newspaper as "proof".

Here we have the exact same thing happening all over again...

And where were all the righties who took that rag as gospel admitting that they were suckered?

LOL...of course you don't notice his multiple threads about me...go to the war zone you blind partisan hack...talk about obsessive...there is a reason i believe dune is legion and if you bothered to have a shred of honesty you would state that i actually defended him until he started posting the SAME stuff legion did and PMing the same crap and talking about "dune's" posts on other board where he copied my username.

grow up you whiny little hack

Actually, by being given the right to quit the union, individuals now have the right to negotiate salaries themselves. The only entity that lost rights are the unions themselves, which are corporations. Since when are liberals in favor of corporate rights over individual rights?

I've noticed the Right uses the same argument for just about everything.

Regarding unions: It's better for individuals to bargain for themselves.
Regarding SS: It's better for individuals to invest for themselves.
Regarding welfare: It's better to individually depend on charity.

It's as if they have no knowledge of history. They don't seem to realize all their ideas are old, tired out, failed ones as Obama tried to get across during the election.

We've tried no unions. We've tried no SS. We've tried no welfare. Been there, done that. And it was a disaster, in every case. That's why we have unions and SS and welfare.

The same argument is used when discussing medical care. Every country started out with a "pay or suffer" system or an "individual approach" and the citizens in every country which switched to a government plan have unquestionably supported it.

The reason for unions and SS and welfare and government medical is because the old systems failed. Hundreds of years. Thousands of years. Since the beginning of humanity the "individual approach" was used the world over. Every nation and every possible way; tried and failed.

There's only two possible conclusions. Either the Right's knowledge of history is non-existent or the Right doesn't give a damn about fellow human beings.

Are you able to offer any other logical reason?

Another insidious tactic in the spread of misinformation. Now, the onus is on those who question the right-wing blog claim.
Right. Because everybody knows that CNN is a right wing blog. I know you pretend you "don't believe" that I watch CNN. But really, I do. There should be just as many stories debunking the "right-wing blogosphere" as there would be stories on the blogosphere. You are the one with the time. Get to it. We have video of students chanting, you have claims that they are not students. Tell me, which one has a link to anything at all to back up their claims?

Since they're children, I don't really doubt that they go to school, so they are "students," Damo.

What a disingenuous response. You know the contention is that they were pulled from class, and are some sort of "field trip".

You, ID, Dixie et al. are the ones making the field trip claim. The onus is on you; you said you would look for a link. When I google, all I find is dozens of right-wing sites parrotting the same BS.

Like I said, even in legit news organizations today, that quickly becomes "we're hearing reports that..."

Hilarious. At lest with tinfoil and bravo you know what you're getting. Damo just whips up a shit sandwich and calls it lunch.

Not informing them without a bias is not informing them...for instance there is no "union busting".

REALLY? Are you THAT brainwashed?

Republican Governor Scott Walker has dismissed the candid conversation he had with a blogger posing as billionaire David Koch, saying it proved nothing except he "says the same thing in private as he does in public."

Well, sure. Except for a public admission that Walker's efforts to strip collective bargaining rights has nothing to do cutting costs and everything to do with destroying unions, because during his conversation with the faux-Koch, Walker laid it all out ... in fact, he grandiosely likened his efforts to the fall of the Berlin Wall:

I told my cabinet ... about what we were going to do and how we were going to do it. We'd already kind of built plans up but it was kind of the last hurrah before we dropped the bomb. And i stood up and pulled out a picture of Ronald Reagan and said this may seem a little melodramatic, but 30 years ago, Ronald Reagan ... had one of the most defining moments of his political career, not just his presidency, when he fired the air traffic controllers. And I said, to me that moment was more important than for just labor relations or even the federal budget, that was the first crack in the Berlin Wall and the fall of communism ... in Wisconsin's history, this is our moment, this is our time to change the course of history ... for those who thought I was being melodramatic you now know it was purely putting it in the right context.

Listeners learned quite a bit from that 20-minute conversation: that layoff threats are just one of the "four or five angles" Walker is pursuing, that he's working on a ruse to get the quorum he needs, that planting agitators among the protesters was considered, and of course, that Walker is tired of "outsiders" sticking their nose in Wisconsin's business -- said while detailing his entire governing strategy to his billionaire-backer from Kansas.

But during the entire course of the conversation, concern about the budget never came up. Why? Because it's not about the budget. As Walker made clear during his paean to Ronald Reagan, it's about union-busting. Or as Walker described it, "the cause":

Thanks for all the support and helping us move the cause forward and we appreciate it and we're doing it, the right and just thing for the right reasons and it's all about getting our freedoms back.

Freedom. Just another word for nothing left to lose ... unless you're a state employee in Wisconsin.

As Walker Signs Union Busting Bill, GOP Admits It’s All About Politics

As previously reported, Walker’s bill makes special exemptions for the two labor unions which endorsed his campaign for governor. The workers who were members of unions that supported his opponent, on the other hand, were the targets of the legislation. Moreover, despite claiming that they are simply trying to be fiscally responsible, Walker and his GOP allies backed massive corporate giveaways that expanded the deficit.

But now, Republican leaders in the state legislature are practically admitting that the bill was about partisan politics.

Republican State Senate Leader Scott Fitzgerald told Fox News that the bill was passed in order to dramatically weaken the clout of unions who could support President Obama’s reelection campaign in the swing state: “If we win this battle, and the money is not there under the auspices of the unions, certainly what you’re going to find is President Obama is going to have a much more difficult time getting elected and winning the state of Wisconsin.”

Randy Hopper, a Republican State Senator who could be recalled by voters this year, also said in an interview with Fox News, “I think there’s absolutely no question that this is an issue for 2012.”

As Republicans admit that the union-busting bill is all about punishing progressive groups and rewarding corporate backers, it is clear that the GOP’s rhetoric on “fiscal conservatism” should not be taken seriously.

Tell me about the "many students that didn't know why"... And tell me about what they said before... like "Our teachers brought us here today..."

Amazing what you can do with a Droid, eh?

Of course the same thing happened during Obama's trip abroad to India...I'd bet a dollar that even CNN "reported" that the trip was going to cost $1.2 Billion...based on the same third-hand "according to some sources"...but once again, when the time came to provide some ACTUAL FACTS...nobody had any...just the same old ridiculous RightWing ASSUMPTIONS.

Hilarious. At lest with tinfoil and bravo you know what you're getting. Damo just whips up a shit sandwich and calls it lunch.
So, you have not even one story that backs up your version, yet we have the words of the students themselves saying that their teachers brought them there.

Thanks. Hypocrite. Will you eat the crow? I had to use a phone to get it because I can't watch video at work, but it's in their own words...
