It seems one FL senator has lost his mind

search is your friend retardo.

You keep saying this, but what I don't understand is why you won't just shut me up by affirming the 2020 election was legit?

It's like you want to prolong this, but I don't see the benefit of stalling.

so this is a big can of nothing, and you Karen's are crying about ....nothing

Why is it that Republicans and Conservatives keep passing useless and pointless laws then?

If this is a big can of nothing, then why was the bill even proposed in the first place?

Before I post some of the shit you were posting about "election integrity" in 2020 and up to the 1/6 insurrection, I want to give you one more chance to come clean and be honest.

Do you accept that the 2020 election was legit, Biden won fair and square, there was no voter fraud, and Trump was lying when he said there was?

It seems that 'for pay' is the issue, which is very easy to hide. Just set up an account in another state, or overseas.

A lot of bloggers get paid by advertisers by the click -- how on Earth do you quantify *that*? Whether it's a citizen just blowing off steam, or someone writing about govt. doings for a few bucks, it still falls under "speech" and for any govt. to try to quell it, is against the First Amendment. What if the blogger derives his/her income from donations? Will he/she be required to list all the donors and THEIR personal info?

Funny how silent the gun-humpers are about this. You know, the same ones who scream bloody murder if *ANY* gun regulations are proposed. Wonder why that is? Would it be different if this proposed new law was taking place in, say, Massachusetts and the sponsoring legislator came with a (D) after his name? It wouldn't be any different to me, but I bet you it sure would for the average Reichwinger.

anyone can exercise their rights to speak for free.....but if you are getting paid to do it they want you to register like any other lobbiest.......

Bullshit. Writers are not necessarily lobbyists. (Note correct spelling.) I've written articles for a prog blog and gotten paid for them. They were about various social issues, with criticism of state and/or national elected officials. How does that make me a lobbyist? Oxford defines lobbyist as "a person who takes part in an organized attempt to influence legislators." Explain to us how someone bitching or praising DeSantis on their blog is doing that.

They do recognize the power of journalism, and they think that accurately reporting the failures of their policies and beliefs will influence people for sure.

So they want to intimidate anyone who would dare criticize their beliefs or hold any of them to scrutiny.

you will have to register if this passes, as the law makes you a lobbyist......

Bingo, that is exactly what this is about, cloaked in a "this is for your own good, voters and taxpayers" package.

Which is why it violates the First Amendment.

BTW my articles were written in Missouri. If one had been critical of deSantis (which is what this is really all about -- preventing criticism of (R) politicians), how would they fine me for not being registered in FL, since I don't live there and thankfully never will?
