If someone 10,000 miles away were to burn the Christian Bible, Hindu Vedas, or Jewish Talmud, the adherents of these religions would carry on with their lives as usual. Yet in response to one fruitcacke in Florida burning the Koran, thousands of angry Afghans are smashing windows, setting cars on fire, and worse, killing people who do not share their views.

There are radicals within each religion. To pretend there are not is absurd. The majority of Muslims did not run out and riot, they did not run out and kill, they stayed home and went about their every day lives. As long as we are at war, the radical extremes will use situations like this as an excuse to create havoc, kill innocent civilians, attack our military etc.... Which is why Patreaus said what he did.

It's retarded to compare Islam with Christianity with regards to this. Muslims are much more likely to use violence.

You're looking for an apples to apples kind of comparison here.

In general, scale & content don't matter as much in this discussion as the basic idea that the VAST majority of both Muslims & Christians are not involved in any of the activities that are violent & hateful. And when I say vast majority, I mean over 99% of either religions' followers. I don't care if you see mobs in the streets; it's still an extremely small %.

Based on that, the idea of painting either religion with the actions of an extremist few is, at best, fairly ignorant...

Yes, I will concede that. But I would argue that peaceful Muslims are not true Muslims. On the contrary, the Muslims who DO murder and rape are the ones who are following the example of their prophet, who was a violent thug, a pervert, and a liar.
