Is Trump right, the media is our enemy?

Is the media our enemy?

He claimed that most of the MSM is America's enemy.

I don't buy it. The press has been one of our country's greatest strengths. We had major yellow journalism in the 1800's through the early part of last century. However, we changed or implemented new rules to deal with such blatant dishonesty in most journalism and also made it a source of pride to be truthful in journalism.

Is journalism perfect? Not by any means. Is it biased? Yes, it is very difficult to be completely free of bias, however, I believe it should be striven for as part of keeping the integrity of journalism in place.

Trump's war on media has not helped the matter and only inflamed the issue. Before he was a serious candidate, he loved the media, because they were mostly positive about him.

Right or wrong, is the media our enemy?

Donnie Dump WANTS people to believe the media is dishonest and untrustworthy because he knows they are going to be up his ass with a microscope every minute of every day he's in office and report every stupid, shady, dishonest, underhanded, ill-advised and incompetent move he makes.

The only defense he has against the political embarrassment he knows he's in for, is to get out ahead of it by falsely painting the media as grossly biased against him and as the enemy of the American people.

It is a strategy that is already working to some degree with his low IQ idiot followers, but I doubt it will work very well in the long run and certainly not with the majority of the public.

He is just spouting a lot of absurd crap out of sheer desperation.

unbiased journalism is not the enemy. However if we compare the way the press treats Trump and the way the press treats obama or even obama and bush then you see that the press has become part of one of the two parties. Even compare the way the tea partiers were covered as opposed to the protests now. I remember one of the tea partiers spit at someone at some point in time and it was major news for weeks. However in anti-republican rallies people get away with burning cars and beating people almost to death.

The press in their current incarnation are the enemy.

also anyone who thinks the US can become a dictatorship after any president is a fool. Trump will step down after 4 or 8 years and the next person will step in his place.

Also please save this message for future presidential elections: The press and the DNC will still say that whoever the GOP candidate is at that time is fascist/racist/sexist etcetc.

Because the state 'media' are an extension/mouthpiece for the Dem party.

For years, they've spewed their lies and propaganda and no one called them on it.

"hands up don't shoot!"

Etc, etc. etc.

In tandem with Obama, they advanced lies and fomented hatred throughout this country, resulting in anarchy and police assassinations.

It's nice to have a President take them on instead of letting them shit and piss all over him, like George W. Bush did.

What amazes me is that many on the left don't see the bias. I see most on the right admit fox has a bias.

I see a bias but I'm not sure if it's a result of the management of the individual outlets, or the desire to draw a more liberal leaning viewer base.

I honestly think at this point it's a strange feedback loop. Media outlets know which stories or which kind of reporting brings in their audience, so they naturally drift one way or the other. The left leaning media outlets probably do jump at a chance to rip on Trump, but the right leaning ones are too quick to dismiss real issues involving his administration.

WaPo and NYTimes are openly hostile/openly dishonest (liars)..Fox is a lot better since Roger Aisles left.

I mean it's NO SECRET there is that "famed liberal bias" going on. However Trump is not helping himself with the confusion.
It's kina self replicating -the more Trump has problems the more the media can magnify them-
to the point of extreme bias/fake news.
It's not helping you got characters like John McCain running around talking out of his ass -but that's part of the swamp

He needs to get some legislation passed -and don't count on Republicans Congress.
Instead of campaign rallies -he should be out promoting his agenda.

Also the obstructionism from Dems on Cabinet has slowed him down -- but the Dems are assholes like the Republicans were under Obama.

The MS "elite"media has it out for Trump -no question about it- but Trump has to get his message out, and Tweeting aint gonna do it.

CNN, especially, has gone full anti Trump since the election. I used to read their news the majority of the time because they were pretty unbiased. Now, they are really just proving Trump right with their news/headlines/slant etc. Like I've said, it is not necessarily that Trump doesn't deserve it, but it is not doing them any favors.

And, as I said with Obama, as our President, he really should not go to war with the news. He can say exactly what they lied about or were biased about without calling them our enemy. Have a presidential like conversation about it, not have a tantrum like a little boy and just call names. I'm so sick of him calling people names. As a candidate, it was sometimes funny, but as the American President, not funny.

The media today is the enemy of the people. No checking into anything for facts before reporting. Just slinging shit out there and people take it at face value. This never used to be a problem in the U.S., when some tabloid like the "Enquirer" wrote something, 99% of Americans would laugh because they knew the difference. Unfortunately today Americans are dumber than fuck and believe anything. The links to "news" sources on this board proves that perfectly.

It is hardly the enemy of the people, that is pretty absurd language, it's a bit excessive. It has become far more opinionated and they do rush stories to get the scoop, but saying they are the enemy is extreme.
