The Republican tweeted a picture that originated on a white supremacist website.

The Trump campaign refused to answer questions about the tweet even as reports emerged that the image had been posted to an anti-Semitic, white supremacist message board 10 days earlier.

Trump rejected the "false attacks", insisting the star represented a sheriff's badge.

Trump's statement did not address the fact that the campaign tweeted an image that had previously been posted on an anti-Semitic, white supremacist message board. His statement also didn't explain where the campaign obtained the image.

Ten days before Trump tweeted it, the graphic appeared on a message board jam-packed with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, white supremacist ideology and neo-Nazi propaganda. CNN confirmed the image appeared on the website.

A Twitter user, "@Fishbonehead1," who frequently posted Islamophobic and racist memes, claimed credit for the original image shortly before the account was deleted. The account first tweeted the graphic June 15.

The Trump campaign refused to answer repeated questions over the weekend about where the campaign found the image or whether any of its staffers frequented the fringe message board or other sites that peddle anti-Semitic and white supremacist views.

More likely, he saw a nifty attack Tweet on Hillary and re-Tweeted it. And it's not like it's even overly apparent that it's Jew related. You have to interpret it that way. Most people wouldn't have given it a second look, myself included.

Maybe he's not hard-core but his comments show a casual disregard for checking anti-Semitic comments before repeating them. Everybody's heard the slurs about Jews and money but decent people understand those are nasty things to say. Not our Trump. Every single day it's "open mouth, insert foot" with him.

We do? Trump didn't originate the Tweet. It's a re-Tweet. At worst he was careless about re-Tweeting an image that *could* be interpreted as anti Semitic.

The same thing could have happened to me. I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out.

It is convenient for you not to look any further as you might learn more than you wish to, & that might cause you to look into the many other "naive" tweets from the sophisticated "winner".. Just a thought.
