Is Trump a fascist? Yes.

Trump since 2021 has called for the “termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution”; he has referred to his political opponents as “vermin”; and he seems prepared to wield the levers of state more ruthlessly in a second term (including, among many other proposals, potentially using the Insurrection Act and other emergency powers to militarize the border).

Ur-Fascism reads like a modern essay about Trump but it was published in 1995.

Did you actually read that essay? At one point, the author lists 14 points of what "Ur-Fascism" is, and the whole of that reads like some conspiracy theorist's gibberish. Each point is simply a rambling diatribe that goes nowhere. It's pseudointellectual nonsense.

If you have a couple of hours:

At one point Lindsay sums fascism up as: The bastard son of communism, and something you try when communism isn't working. He also declares "It is a theory of the Left." That is, fascism is thoroughly Leftist.
