Is this too far?

LOL
Save the anthem for events that really matter. It cheapens it to play it for commercial purposes. Witness the disrespect the players show for it. Let them compose their own music... or better yet they could have L'il Wayne and Missy Eliot whip up something to tug at the fan's hearts
I'd just as soon hear 'This Land Is Your Land'

Again...you're speaking in technicalities. Our country has a much milder method of oppression.
Caste is hardly a technicality. It effects every Indian.
And the Brits don't make a big deal out of Lords and Ladies as they use too. But the title still are valuable.
as far as the US -we don't play those games -we never had royalty. Upward mobility isn't what it should be
but upward mobility does exist here. Grow the damn GDP.

An utterly classlessness society is the stuff of utopia.

We have a capitalist economy which has been proven to distribute wealth more efficiently than any other system. And since wealth and class are nearly the same thing, capitalism comes the closest to producing a classless society.

Is it perfect? Hardly. But it's easily better than the alternatives.

good post.
Capitalism needs regulation - I'm not so sure I want socialism ( although I'm sick of the plutocracy).

we do need a better deal of income distribution-Bernie had the right idea on that,
But it needs to happen without gov't redistribution on a massive scale
