Is this the most ugly of all ugly americans?

Well, then! Romney's crassness is completely excuseable!

I am sorry but speaking from A British point of view, Obama didn't do himself many favours in the early days of his presidency. His gift of 25 CDs to Gordon Brown was just pathetic, the removal of the Churchill bust from the Oval Office childish and his refusal to take any kind of stand over the Falklands didn't go down very well either. Having said that, speaking for myself and others Obama is still probably ahead with most Brits. However I can tell you now if Romney was to support Britain's policy over the Falklands that would change dramatically, in my view.

Yippee. Romney's a buffoon, much like Bush. 'Turning a profit' from Utah's Olympics doesn't render him less of a buffoon on the international stage. That was my point. Not every discussion centers around 'Obama vs Romney'.

It wasn't all that crass. He simply pointed out some of their challenges that have been reported then said, "Let's see how it goes."

That others put meaning to the phrases outside the context of what he actually said doesn't change that it was simply, "We'll see."

An adviser said something that you are attributing to the candidate? I think that's a bit much, Darla. What is up with you today? You seem to be wallowing in expressed victimhood rather than arguing from a position of strength which is your normal wont.

Seriously, you "sound" different the past week or so. The attempt to shut down a conversation based in history through ad hom attack for one is just not quite the Darla I've come to respect. Nobody says women were treated right, only that the rights listed in the constitution were afforded all the people including women, except the slaves.

We've improved, through correct amendments, the constitution to include all the people including those former slaves and changed our laws to reflect a better picture of the meaning of those parts that were not amended. Courts have decided against precedent in favor of equality that we work towards.

However, that doesn't change at all that women too had the right to own and bear arms in the early US... "The People" meant the same thing throughout the constitution, it doesn't change for just this one Amendment and mean something different because of the declarative reason preceding the right.

Walter Mitt(y) Romney, an INVITED GUEST to the United Kingdom sure brought his Utah Yank crassness when he had the cheek to insult his hosts by suggesting Britain was not ready to host the Olympic Games.
If that is an example of his future attitude to friends and allies he'd better quit now before he wakes up on the floor with a crowd looking down at him.
For once I support Cameron, as thick as he is, when he said, 'We've delivered this incredible Olympic Park on time, on budget and in real style.' He should have added 'and no freakin yank who doesnt know which way is up has the right to even look in our direction let alone make rude, insulting comments.'
Mr. Romney, don't let us keep you. Fuck off out of Britain. Here's the cab fare to Heathrow.
Please use the term "Yank" correctly. As a citizen of the State of Massachusets Mitt Romney qualifies as a Yank or Yankee. There is no such thing as a "Utah Yank". In fact the term is an oxymoron and only someone who doens't know what a "Yank" or "Yankee" is would use it.

I agree with you, Low doesn't know when to stop sometimes. I know you guys have feelings too, well some anyway!!

You do across as a whinger at times, yes Romney is a tit but hopefully that will be yet another black mark against him. I will tell you one thing though, if he was to come out and say that he supported the British position on the Falkland Islands he would win many friends in the UK.
And then he'd get annihilated at home, particularly with the Latino vote, for supporting the antiquated Monroe Doctrine. He'd be an idiot to do that. I'm sure Mitt's far more concerned about the domestic latino contituency than earning goodwill with with the UK cause he's toast if he loses Florida in the election and he'd piss off Latino voters by supporting the UK in the Falklands. So that's not gonna happen.

wow, you should look into getting that stick removed from your ass. Heaven forbid that a US network ask a US President (who previously had run the Salt Lake Olympic preparations etc... and thus knows how hard it is and the problems organizers can face) for his opinion and OMG OMG OMG he dared to actually give it. OMG OMG OMG

You are such a schmuck Low.
I believe the correct phrase is "Whinger".....a schmuck is Jewish.

Give it up on the Falklands Tom. The Latino vote in the US has become to important. No US President of either party is going to openly declare for the UK's side of that dispute. Not during a campaign year, that is unless they want to become an "Ex President".

mittens inserts foot in mouth in uk regarding olympics

mittens per cnn live - uk not ready for olympic games

oh well

Agreed. Another "Man bites dog" moment.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...on-relations-between-Britain-and-America.html

Apparently the Romney campaign also complained to the Telegraph that Obama's not white enough to understand the special relationship between the two nations.

Great trip so far.

:palm::palm:

ahahahahahahaha... ahahahahahahaha..hahahahaha..

seriously? hahahaha..

wtf is wrong with him? He's going to be more Anglo-Saxon and invade, then rule Britain? Or he's 'white' so he gets it whereas Obama's black and African and can't get it? They only thing he can get is the 'slavery' aspect of our foreign policy because his brain is smaller than an anglo's? Or? wtf? it's too stupid to even figure out.. I'm sure he will be flip-flopping on this in the very near future, but for now all I can do is laugh at his stupid.
