Christian god (or someone else's) puts life in subglacial lake half a mile under the Antartic ice. Izzee avvina laff?

At 6:20am on January 28, four people in sterile white Tyvek suits tended to a wench winding cable onto the drill platform. One person knocked frost off the cable as it emerged from the ice borehole a few feet below. The object of their attention finally rose into sight: a gray plastic vessel, as long as a baseball bat, filled with water from Lake Whillans, half a mile below.

The bottle was hurried into a 40-foot cargo container outfitted as a laboratory on skis. Some of the lake water was squirted into bottles of media in order to grow whatever microbes might inhabit the lake. Those cultures could require weeks to produce results. But one test has already produced an interesting preliminary finding. When lake water was viewed under a microscope, cells were seen: their tiny bodies glowed green in response to DNA-sensitive dye. It was the first evidence of life in an Antarctic subglacial lake.

God did it, god did it, god did it, god did it...... nope it's no good. I still think it was just evolution.

Are God and evilution mutually exclusive concepts, or is it that those with limited cognitive capabilities is it necessary to pick a team like choosing between the White Sox or the Cubs?

Never wear white socks unless I am playing tennis.
Mutually exclusive? No idea. I suppose a fantasist might allow room in his narrow world for some form of modified evolution but it is highly unlikely that someone who has never had the need for religion would allow room in his. BTW I am sure you think yourself tremendously witty with your spelling of evolution, but it has been done before - sorry.

So lets be clear are you arguing that evolution and evolution alone is responsible for mans existence?

As for me being witty, why yes I am. But that was just a typo on iPhone

There can be nothing else. Unless you wish to argue about the singularity, in which case I fear there would be no winners.
I would be very interested if you admit to believing the universe was created at 6pm on 22 October, 4004BC. I am told there are some in America who actually do believe this.
Suffice it to say there is no debate in principle despite there being several unknowns. One thing is absolutely certain and that is that no supernatural flight of man's fancy had anything at all to do with the creation of the universe, the solar system, this planet or any of the life existing or existed upon it. So if your contention is that a deity of some sort had a spiritual hand in it, we cannot debate.

What exactly is wench winding? Sounds like some kind of medieval torture!!

Aahhhh you have determined that a theory is settled science, I which case you aren't participating in science. Your position is really no different than those who believe in creation. You have faith because you have no definitive science to back you up.

The human body is so marvelously complex that there is no way that it could have occurred due to random chance. It is statistically impossible. The more I learn about the inner workings of the human body going down to the cellular level. It is quite clear to me that it is impossible for evolution to be solely responsible for its creation.

But, since you say you dont want to debate, we shall leave it here, and I will not trouble you further nor expect a response.

I wonder if atheists believe dark matter exists? And if life developed from matter, how do they know that dark matter doesn't support life forms in a realm we can never see or obtain evidence for.

You are completely wrong on every point.

Well, if you say so. I know you said you don't want to debate this as according to you it is settled science, so I don't wish to trouble you further, but could you do me a solid and find me the article that concludes proof positive that evolution is 100% responsible for man in his current form? Can you find me any reputable scientific article stating that evolution is anything other than a theory?

I have looked and can't find anything.

Ironically, you don't realize that you are as dogmatic and closed minded as you accuse others of being. You see, I accept that the creation of human beings is a complex thing that none of us fully understands. I guess unlike you, I understand my human limitations and don't believe I have a monopoly on truth. I believe that the human body is sufficiently complex that chance could not possibly have been created due to random chance which is the fundamental foundation of evolution.

I will await those articles kind sir. Have a grand day. :)

I just found a picture book and don't know who wrote it. Was it god?

OK. You win. But this will be an explanation rather than a debate. But first, let me give you something of an allegorical question.
Suppose:
You and i are leaning on a five bar gate in the sunshine looking at an empty field. After half an hour or so you say there is a cow in the field.
Is it my place to prove there is no cow in the field or yours to prove there is?
Now we are leaning against the same gate with an infinite number of people (big gate), each of whom maintains that there is a different object in the field. Is it their place to prove there is no cow but something else, your place to prove there is a cow or my place to show the field is still empty as it was when we arrived?
If you answer that we might be able to continue with the explanation.

Just thought I'd keep this up in case ILA cares to answer.

The word 'belief' is used very sparingly by most atheists as is the word 'atheists'.

Perhaps my dear friend who has formed a questionable relationship with a large piece of land has forgotten this.
I really hope that he has not been frightened into submission.
