Is this correct?

Sorry, forgot that I would need to spell it out for you..... to sit here and harp about the amount Bush is responsible, while the SAME point is not made about policies of Presidents prior to Bush is moronic, tired and old.

I guarantee that Johnson's policies have affected the debt of this country and its future liabilities far greater than Bush.

Debt and deficits are different things.

So to continue to say 'Bush is responsible for Obama's deficits (or a large part of them)' is tired and old as I said.

The deficit in 2008 and 2009 are understandable given the economic crisis. But at some point your messiah has to take responsibility for HIS actions, HIS policies and the policies of HIS party that have run up the deficit.

Well, maybe you could identify Obama policies that you believe are large contributors to deficits and we can take it from there. Which policies are you talking about?

Will that make you feel better?

My whole thing when I started posting on this thread was the idea that it's ridiculous to say Bush contributed at all to our current situation. And that's what you started off defending, btw.

You can start switching goalposts all you want. It's all in black & white...

No shit. Debt is the accumulation of all surpluses and deficits. Thanks for letting us know they are different. That said, the DEFICIT each year is also affected by Johnson's policies. Future deficits also will be.... far more so than they will by Bush policies.

Well, maybe you could identify Obama policies that you believe are large contributors to deficits and we can take it from there. Which policies are you talking about?

1) Expansion of war in Afghanistan
2) continuation of War in Iraq
3) Obama care... yeah, I know, you want to pretend this isn't going to affect us
4) Stimulus bill
5) Extension of Bush tax cuts.... every single future year they are in place is on OBAMA... not Bush
6) New stimulus bill... pending
7) continued extensions of unemployment benefits

I guess since Obama never has had an actual budget, we can't go further... lets just keep blaming Bush.

Read again sally.... I wasn't defending the comment that they had nothing to due with it. I was mocking Dung for saying the deficits were largely due to Bush. They are not. Not even close.

That's all you really had to say. I realize, as do most, that you hold him accountable for absolutely nothing.

Bush is certainly responsible for his years in office....he is not responsible for Obamas years in office....
Bush is certainly responsible for the DEBT incurred during his terms....he is not responsible for the debt incurred before he took office or after he left office....
Bush is certainly responsible for policy during his terms, he is not responsible for policy in anyone elses administration, whether he agreed with them or not....

do explain st. dung......any rational reading of your posts leads to that conclusion. i'm not surprised you failed to explain, and instead just ad homed.

No explanation needed, really. Presidents can't unilateral determine federal law. That being the case, claiming that one president is responsible for all the laws he inherits unless he changes them is stupid.
