Self-proclaimed Republican jokester Herman Cain has been pulling folks legs for years, it seems. 
After getting heat for proposing an electric fence and shooting Mexicans yesterday, the failed pizza exec claimed he was only joking.
Now it turns out he's always been a full-time comedian ....
"Cain spent the weekend explaining a column he authored in 2006, calling for the Republican Party to “groom Tiger Woods” to run for president...
Writing at the time, the Georgia Republican called on party leaders to consider pressuring the high-profile golfer to enter the field of politics.
Speaking in an interview with The Daily Caller on Sunday, Mr. Cain said the column was a “joke.”
“That was a joke. That was a joke, okay. That was a joke. Americans got to learn how to have a sense of humor.”
