The Left showed last night that Trump's appalling approval numbers underlie a much deeper shift to the Left. More people are pushing back against Trump's policies.
That means the shutdown (which polls are showing to be blamed on the GOP) will be an albatross around the neck of the GOP and it will require they finally agree to conditions to end the shutdown.
It's all a matter of leverage.
