Is rumpf simply wagging the dog??

you can spin it any way you want to,and I agree the spin is in.

But it was not any "wagging the dog" - "Sarin did it"

sarin is a convinient excuse. I do wonder why assad used sarin now when he was winning. Its not like he needed it. I question it as I am not like our democrat friends who believe in the IC 100% of the time :)

Trump Launches “Wag-the-Dog” Strikes against Syria

With respect to this development, the following points are worth noting:

Trump gave Putin (and Assad) a heads-up (about timing and targets) before launching these strikes. This proves they were only for show; it also makes a mockery of Trump’s own claim that he would never give the enemy notice of his military intent.

This heads-up gave Assad time to move his arsenal (notably the chemical weapons at issue and the aircrafts he used to deliver them) out of harm’s way. This validates my claim that military strikes in this context would amount to little more than “masturbatory explosions.” Incidentally, if my dismissing these strikes by alluding to the Mametian “Wag the Dog” is too hip for you, perhaps alluding to the Shakespearean “Much Ado About Nothing” will do.

Trump could have taken out all of Assad’s known military installations. He targeted only one, which is rather like a mosquito stinging the butt of a rampaging elephant to get it to change course.

If you believe Trump’s spin about mission accomplished in Syria, you probably still believe Bush’s spin about mission accomplished in Iraq.

Western politicians and pundit alike are hailing Trump as if he’d just won the Huntingtonian Clash of Civilizations. And they are wasting no subtlety in asserting that Trump demonstrated the strength and decisiveness Obama failed to. But the fact that Assad can launch another chemical attack today if he wanted to belies their praises.

Assad retains the arsenal to continue terrorizing innocent Syrians. This includes killing many more “beautiful little babies” with barrel bombs, which Trump evidently thinks he should be able to do with impunity. This, despite Trump claiming that he launched these strikes because he feels a responsibility to save them. Not to mention that this is the same Trump who wants to ban these beautiful little babies from seeking refuge in America to escape Assad’s chemical weapons and barrel bombs.

The only strategic goal these strikes accomplished was to (momentarily) deflect media attention from investigations into Putin’s meddling in the US presidential election, and from Trump’s allegation that Obama wiretapped his phone. Oh, this wag-the-dog stunt will probably give his historically low poll numbers a momentary bounce too.

Trump gets to play military hero … for a day or two; and Putin gets to launch crocodile protests to give the impression that Trump is more his traditional enemy than his putative puppet.

Don't look now homeboy, but it isn't just Huffington and WaPo talking Trump is a stooge. But don't get this twisted, I have no illusion that you were at interested in truth. If you don't see the hypocrisy in Trump's prior statements, you have no interest in truth .. only your emotions. I didn't post the for you .. I posted it through you.

Of course Assad used chemical weapons .. maybe there are just too many dots for you to follow.

Here is something else I'm posting through you. By all means, don't read it if you don't want to.

Observers Warn That Syria Attack is Trump's "Wag the Dog" Moment
Reports that Russia was warned about strike fuel accusations that military action was taken to distract from mounting domestic problems

With tanking approval ratings, a failed attempt at producing healthcare legislation, and a swirling investigation into possible collusion with Russia, President Donald Trump's first hundred days were looking pretty bleak.

It was against this backdrop that the president late Thursday took unilateral and illegal military action against the Syrian government in alleged retaliation for Tuesday's chemical weapons attack against Syrian civilians, though no proof was presented to confirm reports that President Bashar al-Assad had ordered the deadly strike.

Now, as many foreign governments, U.S. lawmakers, and the corporate media are lining up in support of the bombing campaign, observers say it appears like a 'Wag the Dog' moment for Trump, distracting the opposition while conveniently flipping the script about Russia.

In a column on Friday, The Nation's Greg Grandin pointed out that with the one assault, the president successfully splintered the Democratic resistance, won the praise of the media, and changed the story of his friendly relations with the Kremlin.
Similarly, New Republic columnist and Georgia Southern University assistant professor Jared Yates Sexton outlined in a lengthy Twitter thread how the strikes have effectively changed the "entire conversation and narrative," writing:*

War changes entire conversation and narrative. Always has, always will. We've entered new territory and it's important to understand that. Already networks are talking about operations, the weapons. Instead of links of Russian suspicions, we have footage of missiles launching. Russia was warned, and might have been involved in the gassing, they had enough time to move troops. Yet, Trump "stood up" to Putin. If you think for a second this wasn't organized with Putin's blessing and cooperation...but yet it changes the conversation.

Little in way of results, but yet missile launchings are on a constant loop now. Trump projects strength, decisiveness. War wipes the slate clean, changes all attention. You can be all things to all people with the aid of war, and we're seeing that now. Next couple of days we're going to see media go into War-Mode, which is just slobbering over our armed forces expertise. There'll be no time to talk about Nunes, the Nuclear Option, Russian investigations. Now it's Trump—Commander-In-Chief.

Since BAC is a racist, where is the racist watchdog to call him out?

BAC is not racist. Not even close. If he wanted to help you color would not even come into his mind. That being said, if you were dying and wearing a pro-trump shirt...well, he might let you die. That would not be because of the color of your skin though...

I've never said that.

Try again.

... and how is that racist?

If you said whites couldn't be racist, I wouldn't call that racist .. I would call it wrong.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers it......and it would be racist because its a claim all members of a race share a single characteristic.....obviously it would be wrong.....what racist statement isn't?......

No matter what he does or how egregious, it will never sink into their heads.

They've got too much vested in Trump.

The key to resistance is to ignore them good brother. :0) Have fun with it, yes indeed .. but toss it in the trash when you get done giggling.
