Is Obama perfect?

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews apparently knows no shame when gushing over President Obama. And while the president has been known to send a “thrill” up Matthews’ leg, the host of “Hardball” took it to another level on Tuesday, calling Obama “the perfect father, the perfect husband, the perfect American.”

“Based upon the rhetoric, you’d think the president was a radical lefty and not the center-left politician he actually is based on the record, but then do people care on the right about reality?” Matthews asked.

He posed that question to his two extremely liberal guests, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) and Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson. Then Matthews went on this unbelievable rant, professing his love for the “perfect” Obama who has “never done anything wrong”:

“I want to start with Congressman Ellison. You’ve been victim yourself of some of this crapola, but this crazy yahoo talk, do you think the people who push this stuff, this malarkey over and over again the guy’s somehow — this guy’s done everything right. He’s raised his family right. He’s fought his way all the way to the top of the Harvard Law Review, in a blind test becomes head of the Review, the top editor there.”

“Everything he’s done is clean as a whistle. He’s never not only broken any law, he’s never done anything wrong. He’s the perfect father, the perfect husband, the perfect American. And all they do is trash the guy. And it’s impossible for me to believe they would have said the same thing about a Walter Mondale or a Jimmy Carter or a Bill Clinton. There’s an ethnic piece to this. It’s very hard to nail it down because they always cover it in ideology. But I’ve never heard anybody in this country call its opponent regularly anti-American or non-American.”

apparently cocaine was legal in the 80's....

an ethnic piece to this? wow, gotta hold on to the last bastion of stupidity and hope it garners something.

Why? It's obvious racism is integral to the hatred of Obama. Is Matthews really wrong? Is there evidence he's a terrible father, husband, or that he didn't rise to the top of the Harvard Law Review?

No.

take your race card and stfu.

you have to admit matthews went overboard with his gushing for obama. he is not perfect, and he certainly has broken the law.

It's all semantics about how you define perfect. It seems like he's raised two great daughters. I personally wouldn't call any President a perfect father because I don't think putting young children in the Presidential spotlight while at a young age is what a perfect father would do but that's just me. It seems like he and Michelle have a great relationship. But like any famous couple do we really know what goes on when we aren't watching? Seems like Michelle would be the one who could declare whether he's perfect or not in that arena.

I really don't care what Chris Matthews says and even writing this response is more time than should be spent on his comments. Again arguing semantics I would probably use the word great and not perfect but it really is neither here nor there and pretty much a big who cares?

No.

We don't know if he is a good father or not. For all we know he could beat his daughters. I don't think he does, but unless he releases all of his home videos he could commit incest for all we know. I don't think he does, but he needs to release his home movies to prove otherwise
