Is Obama going to let Russia get away with the flybys?

we could do some more bolstering of the Baltics -but it's not going to dissuade Putin.
If anyone remembers the cold war -this is the types of provocative behaviors that were routine.

Osama bin Laden (I'm guessing that's the Osama you're referring to), the founder and leader of al-Qaeda and the person who dreamed up the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, was more of a reasonable target than a pair of unarmed Russian jets buzzing a naval vessel.

So instead of saying to Putin, "Ah, yes. Mosquitoes," which would TOTALLY piss him off and give him nothing to come back at us with, you want to go with the "we look weak" mindset.

Laughing at someone like Putin does a lot more damage to them, and the world knows that. Plus, he knows the world knows that.

Responding with anything other than some kind of mocking would simply not get under HIS skin, and lead us further into an area we really don't want to go. At least, those of us who can think and reason don't want to go there.

'AQ Core' is holding on..But ISIS has taken a beating -and that's because of the Kurds on the ground with our airpower..

You guys have been watching too much Top Gun. If those planes had switched on their fire control radars, we'd be hearing that the Russians were demanding an apology for turning two of their planes to scrap metal.
 
Let's just shoot them down, then nuke Moscow, then if Damo's server survives the ensuing apocalypse we can all get on next week to see which of us are still alive.

You should see people's reaction when Russia flies planes into the gulf of Mexico over international waters. Yet we have a fucking Aircraft Career stationed in the Baltic and somehow Russia is the aggressor for flying some planes near it.

NATO has broken its post-cold war agreements with regard to encroachment upon previously-Soviet territory. Washington hawks- with whom Billary is associated- were not content to live and let live and have now encroached upon the Russian Federation. As a result the Russians have had to pour money into a new arms race- to the detriment of its social programs- and this will have been calculated by Washington to bring pressure upon the Russian government.
However, Russia is particularly good at producing military hard/software and the sooner that NATO accepts that that part of the world is RUSSIAN the sooner that our own Western governments can start to spend OUR money on US instead of shovelling it into the pockets of arms dealers with whom our ' leaders ' have very unhealthy relationships.

wait a minute..doesnot anyone remember when the Baltic states were under Soviet occupation? THey are part of NATO
Russia is clearly the aggressor here.
Putin is pushing always and it going to continue -recall Crimea and the Ukraine..

So get used to it, were in for a slog.
