Is James Talarico the new Barack Obama?

I don't think the guy has to win the MAGA fire-and-brimstone rightwing Christians. There are plenty of moderate mainstream Christians in Texas his message about the social gospel could appeal to. The guy is a graduate of seminary school, so he carries some authority and expertise.
None.

MAGA isn't Christianity.
I like fire and brimstone. I use them for entertainment purposes.
I happen to be Christian.
The Bible does not describe a 'nonbinary' god.

He didn't read Genesis where it only mentions two sexes.

You're a die hard atheist
He is not an atheist.

What many Democrats forgot is how powerful a Christian message of social justice and reconciliation can be.

This is something MLK understood.

Even Barack Obama frequently invoked Christian language and a Christian zeitgeist in his public speeches. That's partly what made them so powerful.

It's good politics, when done effectively by a convincing orator.
Why is claiming that God is 'nonbinary' good politics, Cyborg?

What does the book written by males, and declares women should be submissive to males, say about God?

Maybe you should actually read the Bible and find out.

You're a die hard atheist very hostile to spirituality, so of course it seems dumb to you.

Like Jeremiah Wright did. "God Damn America!

Let me guess.... it says God is a dude???
He is a Trinity God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit. Is the Holy Spirit. A Dude or a Mother to the Son?????? You tell me. Personally I don't think our brains are capable of fully understanding the nature of God.

Exactly. non-binary is a term used by the Left that is going to alienate some Christian voters.
Exactly. Binary is a term used by the alt right that is going to alienate some all Texas voters who are not nationalist White Christian racists.

What many Republicans is how powerful a normative Christian message of social justice and reconciliation can be.

If Jesus is a male, and Jesus IS God, then God would have to be male if they're the same being, right?

Jesus was made because Jesus is both Man and God. There was no "Jesus" before his birth. Only God the Son God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Again we don't fully understand the full nature of God.

There was no "Jesus" before his birth.
John explicitly says that Jesus IS God and has always existed as God.

John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".

John 1:14: The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, indicating the incarnation of God.

Again, claiming that God is non-binary is nonsensical.
I don't think Talerico is looking to make major inroads with white fundamentalists. He might make inroads with Christians sitting on the fence

I personally know a lot of Episcopalians, Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans and many of them probably wouldn't get totally bent out of shape at the casual use of the term non binary

He didn't read Genesis where it only mentions two sexes.
That does not speak to God who would be above any ability to define in such simple human terms.

Christianity says God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit all rolled into one so those simple definitions do not apply

you ever consider genetic Trinity is parents, children, grandchildren are the Holy Spirit because they don't exist yet since last two generations are always changing population left alive tomorrow each ancestor inhabiting time now as, lived, alive, just born today. Really doesn't change the outcome if you add the living grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents.

Population is only changing people alive daily here is each child added so far and the previous generations dying off at random times since specifically arrived date of birth written on a calendar of events happened so far.

Humanity corrupts ancestries all the time, doesn't matter which reality governing tomorrows daily here..
