Hardly yet it isn't the norm either.I'm aware of his book. You're acting like negotiating started with him. Do you think he's the only one to negotiate that way?
Why are we ignoring the fact that corporations create all policies in this country, and they are the reason for our trade policies?
If you think Trump ever had any plans on changing the way he and his daughter run their clothing lines, you're crazy. Why did he have to wait until Hillary 'makes it illegal' to import Chinese steel, before he would ever increase his construction costs?
Because he has absolutely no power, nor any plans to renegotiate anything. He's loaded his cabinet with people who kept it from ever happening for decades now.

Context 101What?
Context 101
As I said, not usually.Does context 101 say negotiating is lying?
because I didn't agree with your rude comment. I thought it was groan worthy. He wrote about something that had nothing to do with the question he was responding to. Why do I get groaned for calling that out?
Congrats. You've finally taken the first step. BTW....negotiations are subject to Congressional approval, so yes....all negotiations are done for the benefit of lobbyists. It just so happens that much of what gets agreed to in these trade deals, has everything to do with the corn lobby.Ok. So Presidents and negotiators just do the bidding for corporations?

Because most trade deals benefit Big Agra, and corps. who offshore jobs. Interesting tidbit that Trump doesn't want to talk about when he bashes NAFTA. We rammed our corn down Mexico's throat, and killed their corn industry. Now....why would Congress be so interested in making Big Corn happy? What is the point of negotiating trade deals if not to benefit the businesses and consumers of your country?

I think 20 years of trade deals have illustrated just who benefits the most. Why else would our real economy be so tepid?
Yes....Mexico picked up manufacturing jobs, and lost big on agricultural jobs. People talk about why the Heartland votes Republican. Because these trade deals typically kill unions, and bolster corn exports. Everyone votes in their own best interests. There are huge benefits to the U.S. economy created by trade. Yes there are costs borne by workers who lose their jobs and don't have the skills to move to new ones but overall trade increases growth. Trade deals are not what's harming our economy right now.
Pretty well written article. It supports a lot of what I've been saying about our Agra heavy pressure on Congress to find new avenues to dump our corn, at the expense of high paying union labor. Monsanto is right in there with lobbyists, as they make billions in the corn fields of this country.I copied and pasted this the first time but my computer f'd up and didn't post it. There's a portion of the article on how NAFTA has affected Mexico's economy. They've lost jobs and also created new ones.
