He had a potential real out in the E JEan case, with his comments potentially protected while he was POTUS and he knew it. He was suing to get it dismissed. And then he goes on tv and still repeats the same exact comments but now, not as POTUS. The judge says, lets not worry about the first case, he is trying to block and just proceed with the second.
Also every lawyer he has says he cannot do a deposition as he will only make things worse for himself. A smart person can use the deposition to enter in info, true or not, and get away with it. Trump says 'that's Marla' when a big part of his defense is 'she is not my type'.
Every lawyer opposing Trump drolls as the chance to depose him knowing that even if they have a weak case he is dumb enough to gift them a strong case.
