I agree the TP shouldn't have been targeted, definitely. But there seems to be a pattern of targeting along party lines no matter who's president.
Actually, using 'tea party' as a qualifier for review was intelligent. Political organizations, looking to avoid taxation by hiding as a totally different type of organization, was the root of the reviews.

What better way to single out these political orgs, than to search for names of political orgs?

You have a point, the problem was that the term TEA PARTY is not politically neutral.

My point is that its insane for the Conservatives to be defending Christie whose Chief of Staff directly targeted a particular mayor because he did not politically endorse him, while attacking President Obama because some Bush appointee who he likely never met used the name "TEA PARTY" to attain a legit objective.

It is not "legit" to aim the IRS at your political opponents, it was in fact one of the articles of impeachment that would have been leveled against Nixon had he not resigned.

Now, as for "Bush appointee" the problem you have there is simply old information and deliberately misleading information. Back when the Administration's apologists were saying it was only "one office" they got all excited that supposedly the person heading up that one office was a Bush appointee. However we found that this "one office" tripe was just that, tripe.

The Acting Commissioner who resigned after being asked for his resignation (Steven T. Miller) had absolutely nothing to do with being appointed by Bush, he got that job in 2012 and held it until his resignation in 2013. Almost six total months...

The next non-resignation resignation (he retired rather than resign) was Joseph H. Grant who was Lois Lerner's boss.

Lois Lerner who was appointed to that particular office in 2006 (thus Jarod's rather disingenuous "appointed by Bush") refused to resign, was placed on "administrative leave" and kept getting our money in pay until she finally retired rather than resign. While she was appointed to the office while Bush was in office that particular office is not politically appointed. Bush didn't select her for the appointment.

There are only two political appointees in the IRS, the Chief Counsel and the Commissioner. Bush didn't "appoint" Lois Lerner to office, it isn't a political appointment (one that he got to pick). The left tries to lie and pretend that Lois was a Bush appointee, when they know very well that she was not.

I wasn't sure at first because you just don't know how these things will shake out sometimes. But after reading more and more, I'd say this guy will never be President and is lucky to hold onto the governorship. Just my opinion.

My guess is Hillary is wearing her cool sunglasses and sending some texts this week baby!

2016 bitches.

I don't think he'd have been President even if this traffic scandal never happened. The images of him cozying up to Obama after the hurricane would have ended some support from conservatives and made it very difficult for him to get the nod in a Primary battle. Couple these two together and I'd agree he won't be President.

However, he did what Nixon should have. Simply and directly stated what happened and held people responsible. Now, if there is no real evidence linking him to the decision to do this he'll survive as Governor just fine and can even overcome the stain by the time the next election rolls around.

I don't think Christie is HillBillary's opponent in 2016, nor do I necessarily believe that HillBillary will get the nod as the new Savior of the Democrats. Last election was a walk-in for her... But she didn't get it... This one is supposed to be a walk-in for her, but there is still a Primary and the fickle Ds will likely select the flavor of the day rather than the Anointed Choice one more time.

You think?

Who will the Democrats attack next?

I may not have said so with just the traffic crap, even though I believed he was definitely involved. But now add in the fact he used the feds money for the ads, even if proven to be OK'd. Appearances will count more than facts. Then again, I never thought he was presidential material to begin with. I think he's done a lot of good for NJ, but I still don't want him running for the WH.

Uh, the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service at the time of the alleged events, Doug Schulman, was a Bush appointee. Miller was a career staffer at the IRS, having worked there fro roughly 25 years. Yes, he was acting commissioner follwing the resignation of Schulman (the Bush appointee that preceeded him). Lois Lerner, like Miller, worked at the IRS for quite some time, 12 years (first joining under Bush). Also, too, Joseph H. Grant, commissioner of the tax exempt organizations unit, first began working at the IRS in 2007 under Bush.

Are we still pretending this was a scandal of some sort?

The male democratic base may do that again, but she'll have women with her this time all the way, IMO even the younger ones who last time went for Obama.

As for christie, there's a lot more there and he's going to be lucky to survive in NJ.

What's really bad timing for christie is that there's a new book out written by those smirking inside the beltways pukes at The Politico, or formerly of the Politico, I can't keep track, but they're not liberals. And in it they report that the Romney campaign looked at Christie hard for the VP slot but didn't want him over ethics concerns. This goes back to his attorney general or whatever days. Anyway, his dirty laundry is only just begun to be aired.

I agree and never said it was.

So which one is the one you claim visited President Obama 118 times?

The way I see it is that Christie was the Republicans only truly electable candidate. Out of the current field I don't see an electable candidate. Maybe the Lehman Brothers guy, (John Kasich?) but I don't think so.

I know Randall Paul is dancing in the streets today, but I don't think hes electable.
