Birthright citizenship was never intended as a method for people to come here illegally, have kids, and then go, oh look, they are US citizens.

The "right" has been abused and needs to be curtailed.

I don't think there is a way to rule that birthright citizenship of this manner violates the spirit of the 14th. Thus, it will require a new amendment to sort out.

We, the people, don't need an amendment to overrule an illogical misinterpretation of an amendment. Citizenship should also be taken away retroactively from anchors and their descendants. Any SCROTUS decision that rewards lawbreaking is a contradiction and must be nullified.

you can't arbitrarily change the constitution to conform with your personal interpretation. In fact, the wording is quite straightforward and simple to understand.
