Is anyone happy with the healthcare bill the house is set to pass today? Conservatives or liberals?

Trump is.

All he wants is a win he can crow about.
That's all they both want. Both sides are too stupid to understand that anything short of single payer is pointless.
And if they're too stupid to understand that, they're way too stupid to understand there is a free market solution to single payer rather than gubmint control of the whole system.

We don't need single payer. We need to get the gobblement out of the healthcare business period. Costs will come down and healthcare will improve.

The democrats want complete control over the citizens of this country

Trumps proposal is an attempt to save Obamcare from it self. Obamcare was headed for disaster, already 32% of the country had nowhere to buy Obamacare policies, the insurers quit offering coverage.
32% and growing by the way.

The highlights of Trumps plan are well thought out. No mandate ie you can't force an American to buy something he does not want to buy, but at the same time telling him that if he does in fact need it at some point he wont be denied, BUT he will pay a 30% premium penalty for his risky choice gone wrong. but essentially you still can't be denied for pre existing conditions

States can demand work requirements for Medicaid recipients ie cut down on the free loaders a bit

Parents can still carry their children to the age of 26 on their policy

Theresa host of other changes coming like the buying across state lines, a lot of the medical devices and prescription issues.

But it's a start, and a show of compromise, for the good of all

You said there wasn't going to be a vote. Why were you wrong? Can you tell us?

Do you ever get anything right?

Are you happy with it?

I'm happy about something, it seems to cement the idea that we aren't going back to the pre-Obama care days. I'm happy that the basic framework of Obamacare will remain. I'm not happy that it illuminates the protections for those with pre-existing conditions. I'm not happy of what it does to Medicaid. To put it in terms Trumper's might understand space Haik If Obama care is an eight, this is a six.

This just a start. We will dismantle it brick by brick

I only skimmed it. I think it's an improvement. Honestly I would rather have the whole thing eliminated. But kicking some people off is essential first. Pre-existing conditions is FUCKING RETARDED when it comes to health insurance. Can you get insurance for your already burned down house? That's how fucking stupid it is.

Why should I pay for the old and sick? The boomers have already dicked my generation enough. Health is one of the few things I have going for myself. STOP TAKING MY MONEY

Man, do I wish that most Republicans would come clean on pre-existing conditions like you just did.

What fucked priorities. Maybe I missed it, but do you rail against the huge increases for the military & the trillion dollar giveaway to the rich like you do for the relatively paltry amount it would take to cover pre-existing conditions, which many are born with?

the pre-existing conditions thing is an improvement though.
But it's not just the Boomers -Americans now want the government to provide universal health care,
even if it's a new entitlement..
If it was single pay....OK..but it's not
PS. this bill does allow HI companies to charge more for older people.

get a stripped down catastropic, and save your money

Partially disagree with the former, agree with the latter. You're right, we don't need single payer or any other 'system'. Health care is a responsibility, not a right. Although it's the responsibility of a society to provide for those that legitimately can't, e.g., those born with cerebral palsy.
But the 'responsibility' vs. 'right' argument is a losing one politically. Not only with health care but with any subject for at least half the population, probably more. That's why libertarianism will never be a feasible political philosophy.
Now for the latter: it's possible to have single payer with minimal gubmint involvement. In fact, if you have gubmint controlling the whole system you're looking at a real clusterfuck.
Costs will come down and healthcare will improve.
Nothing wrong with health care in the u.s. and there never was compared to other countries.
Practice personal responsibility and health improves making costs go down.

That's why the only single payer system acceptable is Moosecare, a free market solution to single payer.

I definitely believe our military can and should be downsized by a considerable margin.

re: pre existing conditions, It's not a paltry amount. It raises healthy peoples premiums by a lot. Maybe if you are sick and gangly you wouldn't notice much of a difference.

Look the bottom line is, sometimes it's just someones turn to die. It's that simple. Not everyone can be in this great game we call life. If you are 40 and you get cancer and you didn't buy insurance, sorry, you made a bad roll. Time to get off the train. Some people just draw the short straw
