Going back to his early real estate days if Trump felt he had a power imbalance over his contractors or vendors his main negotiation tactic was to threaten to tear up the contract and threaten to force long suits.

he learned that many companies will just settle in advance to avoid the lawsuit costs, win or lose, even though they were right. To a person who is naturally a bully that is just emboldens them.

Now with the power of the US govt behind him he has reached his bullying peak. it is all threats and bluster whether it be to US companies, US citizens or Allies or enemies. no real negotiations. Just threats and bluster and looking for who will cave.

There is no point in negotiating with Trump or his people. Trump showed that with tariffs. He says we had a great deal, then gets pissed off and unilaterally changes it. That is not a deal.
He killed the Iran nuke deal the same way, all by himself.
We were in negotiations with Iran when he launched a sneak attack. Trump respects nothing.
Agree to anything Donald wants. Deals have no meaning when he is in power.
When Obama did the Iran nuke deal, there were 5 other countries involved. There was a team of negotiators with nuclear scintists involved. Trump has Jarod.

if he did not agree to let them charge for access to the Strait, with maybe the US getting a cut, you can bet once details are disclosed he will find some other way to get them money. LOTS of money. Whether it agreement to help rebuild the country with cash, or sanctions or seized money released, we can bet there will be something and it will almost certainly be more than what the magats cried about Obama giving.

And all the while we know what the magats here will do and that is clap like seals while saying 'best deal ever'.

The man has negotiated billion dollar property deals and peace agreements with warring countries and you say he has zero sense of how to negotiate?

I am not saying he is perfect and clearly he is full of ego. But to say that a man who has accomplished as much as he has doesn't know how to negotiate is ignorance of its highest order and why you will always be seen as a clown except by your own marxist ilk

He is an awful negotiator, he has some people who work for and around him to get some things done, while allowing him to blaber and make silly demands and pretend he got great deals.
