Central Americans continue to surge across U.S. border, new DHS figures show.

U.S. officials are grappling with a 15 percent surge in illegal immigration, reflecting continued failures by the Obama administration to deter illegal immigration along the country’s southwestern border.

Homeland Security officials apprehended 530,250 illegal immigrants and sent 450,954 people back to their home countries over the 12-month period that ended in September, according to figures released Friday by the Department of Homeland Security.

Homeland Security figures released Friday showed that nearly 84 percent of the people removed from the United States in fiscal year 2016 were categorized as Priority 1, which includes *“national security threats, convicted felons or ‘aggravated felons,’ criminal gang participants, and illegal entrants apprehended at the border,” according to the department’s report.

According to the article, they're are being captured and detained and returned......in addition to the deportations listed in the Politifact and ABC News articles I posted. In other words, a WHOLE LOT of people are NOT getting in.

Deterrence has been a problem with every administration before Obama, and until things change globally, I dare say it will continue.

Get it now, bunky? There's more to a story than the headline.

unfortunately, the constitution says it does, we are a democratic republic with each state having its say disproportionate to its population. alaska has the same say as rhode island or california or new york.

if you do not like it petition your congress critter to introduce an amendment to change the constitution

BAC, my wife is a blonde, blue eyed German citizen on a green card. She forgot to renew that green card one time and was given a notice of intent to deport by the INS. And she went thru the effort of being here legally. So you're saying that if someone sneaks in here illegally and manages not to get caught for several yrs. they deserve to stay?

You first learn to read CAREFULLY AND COMPREHENSIVELY. Then, you click on the highlighted words/sentences in the article to see where they get their references and basic information.

Had you done this, you would have seen the Dept. of Homeland Security and the U.S. Custom and Border Protection as bonafide documentation of the FACTS the article refers to.

So if you're dumb enough to toss out the DHS and the US Custom and Border Protection because you don't like what they say, then it's pointless to engage you further.
