History has taught us that one of the biggest tools to deal with global international threats is to diminish their global ties with other countries and isolate them.
From the former USSR, to East Germany, China, Russia, N,Korea, etc such isolation diminishes them as a threat or puts them into decline and eventually change.
Cooperation = strength and prosperity and history has proven that beyond any doubt.
Now we see the US, under Trump, deliberately going into an isolationist phase while driving others into more cooperative relationships.
It is why Trump "loves the poorly educated" because as Rome burns he knows they will clap like seals while saying all this is a good thing.
