"Intergenerational Injustice"

Trust me I've been. I've spoken in front of the SF Planning Commission and the SF Board of Supervisors when we were funding a high rise condo development. I tell people the same thing, if you really want to SF go to one of those meetings.

Oh good lord....I would imagine SF's nutjobs makes Cbus, Dayton and Cincinnati's nutjobs look relatively sane by comparison?

Well by US standards they may be adequate or good but how about compared to the mass transit in first world European and Asian countries? I have a friend in Chicago and he spends little over an hour a day commuting by rail from around 20 miles from city center. That's not bad when you're not the one doing the driving. Saves a lot on car too.

I have no idea how these various cities compare internationally. What I do know is the whole idea behind "smart cities" is that people live near modes of public transportation which gets (in theory at least) more cars off the road and is better for the environment.

there is no Kelo case involved here. We're talking about people who own buildings and/or land that want to build and can't because of the government and NIMBY's.

Well you see what I mean about the political aspect of it? NIMBY's present a unified front and that makes them politically formidable. You have to be willing to challenge that or face the reality that you're going to be doing business elsewhere.

SF doesn't have a monopoly on local "characters" but we do have our fair share that have protested for decades and they know how to put on a "show".

But this goes against your argument of respecting property rights. If I own a property and I want to build what the site is zoned for then I should be able to build. That isn't the case however.

Rezoning needs to happen all over California but the crisis is greatest in large cities because that's where the jobs are and that's where young people want to go. Young single people aren't flocking to the suburbs. She has no clue what she is talking about, clearly.

I know. She just wants to shout 'white men are racist!'

You might as well be wailing against forces of the rain, wind and sunshine. This is the point I keep hammering at. They have property rights too and they have rights to a democratic process and unless you can build a stronger political coalition than theirs you're pissing upwind.

If you don't have the capacity, ability or temperment to build that political coalition then I'd suggest seeking a solution elsewhere.

"NIMBY's" ?!

Try it...you'll feel better. I promise. :)

A woman of color once said that all white men are racist to my wife, who also happens to be a woman of color.

My wife's response was...white men are all right. Every woman should own one.

Well, since you are from Ohio and no real men exist in Ohio... you are saying your wife is looking to buy a real man? Def a step up from the sheep fucker pretending to be a man she has now ;)

It's pointless responding to you because either you have no idea what's going in the world and how it works, or you are just a troll. I've stated multiple times in this thread the housing crisis is in the major coastal cities. LA, SF, Portland, Seattle, NY and D.C.

It is absolutely amazing you claim to live in California and claim to be a homeowner yet have no clue about this.

So now Orange county, Del Mar and La Jolla aren't major costal cities?

Yea, I just pulled your card. San Diego is a major costal city.

But keep harping on SF because you think no racist white wingers live there.

Orange county is not a suburb you twit.

You can't even think outside of pea brain let alone talk about an entire state.

Your only point is to say wealthy white liberals in SF don't want Blacks living near them. And using your twisted logic, neither does wealthy whites in San Diego and Orange county coastal cities.

Lots of jobs in both those areas.

Then we need to build transportation in the suburbs you dumb ass.

Its right wing republicans who don't want to spend the money on transportation.

Orange County is a City? Interesting, never knew that. Care to post a link that discusses a housing crisis in the City of Orange County, La Jolla or Del Mar?

I don't consider San Diego a major City, and rarely is it discussed in the same breath as LA, SF, Portland or Seattle but feel free to post info that shows it should be added to the list.

Santa Monica
Pacific Palisades
Redondo Beach
Huntington Beach
New Port Beach
Malibu
Oceanside
Carlsbad
Coronado
etc.

All major costal cities in CA that have lots of jobs and over priced housing.

Where is cawacky's concern about those Costal Cities and affordable housing??

I'm not posting shit.

I'd rather call you out.

I know lots of Blacks in all those cities including SF.

You really need to find some other avenue to try to falsely compare racism between the left and right. You are losing this battle... boo!

You don't know what you are talking about so of course you won't back up what you say.

You claim to either be from or have lived in LA. You claim to own a home in LA. Yet you think Orange County is a City.

You are the worst troll on the internet.

Yea, go with that.
