But Clapper was responsible for a lot of the bogus intelligence which led to the Iraq war. Newsweek reported in 2010:

Mr. Clapper was a key player in facilitating the fraudulent intelligence. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld put Mr. Clapper in charge of the analysis of satellite imagery, the best source for pinpointing the location of weapons of mass destruction — if any.

2) There were numerous contacts between the hackers and Trump campaign officials that were initially denied by Rump's campaign officials.
3) There were numerous payments from the Hackers and Trump campaign officials that were initially denied by Rump's campaign officials.
4) There are many indications of Trump's many financial interests in Russia.
5) Trump has denied financial interests in Russia.
6) Trump will not release his tax returns that would confirm or disprove those financial interests.
These six facts are enough circumstantial evidence to warrant a very serious investigation.
If Rump would release his tax returns or if the Republican Congress would subpoena them, the investigation would likely be over.
