Fed officials see 'eye-popping' inflation data in rearview after December slowdown
Jennifer Schonberger Thu, January 12, 2023 at 2:33 PM EST·

Inflation pressures eased again in December, giving some Federal Reserve officials more confidence that a continued slowdown in its interest rate increases is warranted.

In the final month of 2022, inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index showed prices rose 6.5% over last year while falling 0.1% over the prior month.

Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker said Thursday morning he expects the "eye-popping" inflation readings of 2022 are behind us, and that it makes sense to slow down the pace of rate hikes.

This is horrible news for the RepubliQans. They were hoping for more bad inflation news so they could blame Biden.
Now, they have to turn to Hunter's Laptop, gas stoves and M&Ms again.

Prices dropped month over month. And this is happening while we are continuing to experience growth and unemployment is at a 53 year low.

But don't worry, the Trumptards will whine about the price of eggs. Because, you know, Joe Biden caused Avian Flu.

And now they can wet their panties over Biden's documents while totally ignoring Trump's Top Secret Document heist.

I'm fine with letting the investigations play out. I suspect they are not going to be happy about the results. Trump will be indicted. Biden will not. Because one had criminal intent, the other did not. Careless and sloppy? Yes. But I don't recall Biden ever saying 'lock him up' for mishandling classified information. Hypocrisy sucks.

Yup. Let it play out indeed and if Biden is found guilty of anything, he should receive the appropriate punishment.

Same with Trump. Am I right MAGA morons?

We did not even see the double digit inflation, much less the hyperinflation, that the alt right claimed.

Microsoft is laying off 10,000 employees
https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/18/tech/microsoft-layoffs/index.html

ABC, a national industry trade association, forecasts that the industry will experience a shortage of about 665,000 construction workers in 2022. This prediction is based on the organization’s analysis of the current state of the industry, as well as a proprietary model that forecasts labor needs based on a number of factors, including inflation, construction spending, and several more.

The U3 numbers are a farce. Inflation is still far higher than before Biden took office. The Democrats, and Joke, are fucking the economy up royally.

Just about everything we get told now is a farce, which is how you can be sure that this son of a bitch is going down....this gets punished by the Universe.

Jesus Fucking Christ. A SHORTAGE of workers means that jobs are being created. Microsoft overhired in their web services lines of business during the pandemic and have to lay those people off. The U3 number is calculated in the EXACT SAME MANNER as it always has. T.A. Gardner, as usual , is a fucking moron. And a nazi.

They've been screaming 'hyperinflation' for the last 15 years. Because not one of them understands even the basics of economics. Not one.

Good economic news is good economic news. Biden taming inflation in 2 short years is pretty remarkable. He has also added over 10 million new jobs.

Compared to the guy you voted for, who - as we know - was the worst jobs President in modern history.

The amazing part is even a broken clock is right twice a day, but the Republicans are never right. If they had made the more reasonable prediction that we would have higher inflation, they would have finally been right. We are not even having double digit inflation, but we are definitely having higher inflation. That being said, they were wrong all those other years they predicted high inflation.

There has been a shortage of skills tradesmen for years. One of the often cited reasons is that schools push their students to go to college and disparage working in a trade. It isn't something new, but the shortage is growing, not shrinking.

The shortage of qualified skilled trade workers is expected to grow even worse in the coming decade. Recent statistics show that about one in five skilled workers are 55 years of age or older, which means that more people will retire from skilled trade work in the coming years.

Biden hasn't tamed inflation. Right now, it's still more than double what it was pre-Joke... That it's gone down some isn't as important as is that it's still far higher than it was.

That it's gone down is incredibly important. Biden inherited the conditions that led to this spike - it started before he took office. In 2 short years, it's going down.

He's been much better for the economy than Trump was. Again - 10 million new jobs, compared to the worst jobs President in modern times.
