A new Indiana bill would require victims of rape to present doctors with a signed affidavit attesting to the truth of their assault in order to receive an abortion under the state's rape or incest abortion exception.
This would open up the victim to investigation and charges of perjury, which is punishable by up to two-and-a-half years in prison. The bill would also outlaw the abortion pills mifepristone and misoprostol and makes it a crime to possess or prescribe abortion medication.
The bill, introduced by MAGA Sen. Mike Young (R-Indianapolis), would retraumatize sexual assault survivors, experts say. Patients are "likely to not seek care if they know they will be forced to go through this agonizing process," said Indianapolis OB-GYN Dr. Caitlin Bernard.
MAGA needs to stay out of women's business. They are for forced birth no matter what.
