India is one of the most racist countries on Earth. Go to Mumbai and see the incredible disparity between rich and poor. I don't think most people here were much into the superiority bit anyway - we had Indian MPs before the First war, I believe, though not many, while in my own family Ghandi and Nehru were hugely more respected than Churchill, and nobody was anything but pleased when Tata offered to take over Port Talbot.

i remember something seeing a protest in india from the brahmin and kshatriya caste. They were saying the rules favored the untouchable and other lower caste too much so they could not get jobs. Like affirmative action taken to extremes or something.

Yes very true, he said some pretty stupid things in retrospect.

Gandhi was not always right. His position on Jews has been characterised as passivity bordering on cowardice; when asked what the Jews should do when they were taken to concentration camps, he said they should go willingly, “al Kiddush Hashem“, as Jewish martyrs. His advice for Jews during the Holocaust was profoundly wrong. Martyrdom (commonly use nowadays among the Muslim extremists to please Allah) is not something to be courted. (Of course Moonbat will be creaming his/her jeans when it reads this!!)
