Yes or no, was there proof that a crime had been committed when Starr began his investigation? "Witness testimony" isn't proof of a crime committed

And if you want to stretch your argument, the same logic could be applied using proof provided by the intelligence agencies that the Russian had interfered in the American political process, substitute "witness testimony" for agencies agencies and the inane logic is back to square one

If you can't admit that the years of the Starr investigation was a "investigation in search of a crime" then explain how one goes from the Whitewater investigation to Vince Foster to White House personnel getting fired to abuse of confidential FBI files to Madison Guaranty to the Rose Law Firm to Paula Jones and ultimately Monica Lewinsky

Well, back in May, Mueller subpoenaed the Podesta brother's lobbying firm. The records he got would have detailed Manafort's activities in the Ukrainian election - which Hillary's State Department was very interested in.

Mercury had worked on the Ukraine lobbying project with the Podesta group, led by Anthony Podesta, brother of John Podesta, who led Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Is Manafort under investigation? What crime did he commit?

Is Manafort under investigation? What crime did he commit?

Yes, he is under investigation.

Evidence of a crime is not specified in the report I cited.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller issued grand jury subpoenas seeking testimony from public relations executives who worked on an international campaign organized by Paul Manafort.

This is the first public indication that Mueller's investigation is beginning to compel witness testimony before the grand jury — a significant milestone in an inquiry that is examining the conduct of President Donald Trump and his son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, among others.

It is also further indication that Manafort, Trump's onetime campaign chairman, could be in serious legal jeopardy.

The inquiry into the lobbying campaign appears to be part of a larger investigation into his work for a pro-Russian Ukrainian political party, his offshore banking transactions, his tax compliance and his real estate dealings, people familiar with the probe have told NBC.

According to one executive whose firm received a subpoena, Mueller's team is closely examining the lobbying campaign, which ran between 2012 and 2014. Some of the firms involved in the campaign received subpoenas for documents weeks ago, the executive said, and now the Mueller team is seeking testimony.

Note that we have since heard nothing since late August - and "Mueller's team is closely examining the lobbying campaign, which ran between 2012 and 2014"

Now, who was in the White House between 2012 and 2014? Who was Secretary of State between 2012 and 2013?

Maybe Mueller's team didn't like what they found out, since it would not have incriminated Trump.

liberals need it to go on forever as it's the only sliver of hope they have. I can't imagine the mental break they are going to have when it's a big nothing burger.

You're assuming they will accept reality.

They won't.

They still think Hillary won and Trump cheated.

Isn't it about time to put up or shut up? This investigation which actually began in August of 2016 has been going on for more than a year and the Mueller investigation for more than FIVE months.

Shouldn't we, the American sheeple, be demanding an accounting for the costs of the investigation and when it is to end? Not one press conference to talk about the progress? No reporting on progress? No charges being filed? No report? Nothing?

In May 2017, Mueller was appointed by the Justice Department as special counsel, overseeing the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections and related matters.

I'm surprised that Amadoofus the Canadian dishwasher isn't demanding that these two join the Mueller team:
