In defense of Trump's turnover

The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it. P. J. O'Rourke

Can you show that ? I never heard that or saw it. PJ is a comedian. You are not, but still a joke.
Sure.

Thank you. I guess the Twain quote I should have posted, which is appropriate to P.J.'s pithy quote is. "All generalizations are false...including this on.".

My point being that this "Drain The Swamp" rhetoric is based on a generalization.

Yup. I remember that. My complaint was that he never had a real job...student, disinterested lawyer, community organizer and senator who never introduced anything and only voted "present".

What do you consider to be a real job? He worked in the business sector for a couple of years as a financial researcher and writer, was a project coordinator in NYC, became a civil rights attorney, was in the IL state senate and then ran for the US senate. I think saying he was a "disinterested" lawyer is just snark. And as far as only voting "present", that's a bald faced lie.

"Here are the facts: According to reports by both The New York Times and the Associated Press, Obama voted "present" 129 times as a state senator. The AP reported that Obama said the votes represented a small portion — a little more than 3 percent — of the "roughly 4,000" votes he cast as a member of the state Senate."

Also, I'm really not sure why cons are so contemptuous of someone who worked to better his community. Obama did a great job of working on behalf of others, unlike the present WH occupant who only thinks about and works for himself. trump is so pathologically self-absorbed he's now taking credit for Conor Lamb's win.

President Obama left office with a 60 percent approval rating, managed to make great progress fixing the mess George Dumbya left him, and will go down as a consequential president. History is going to rank him in the top third of presidents. Bush and Trump are both going to be in the bottom ten of all time.

Whining about his community organizing job just doesn't cut it anymore. Obama has proved himself more capable than the Dunces the Reich Wing puts forth: George Dumbya Bush and Donald J. Drumpf.

And for the record, I find his community organizing career admirable. Anybody coming out of Harvard Law could have landed a high paying law gig in New York or Washington. It speaks well to Obama that his life priorities are not focused on profit, materialism, and landing the highest paying job possible.

IIRC one of the 2016 repub candidates also worked as a community organizer for awhile before moving on. I'll have to try and dig that up.

I am going to give a hat tip to anyone that worked in peace corps, humane society, amnesty international, or any legitimate and reputable community-based non-profit organization. It generally speaks well to their character.

I guess I am not really surprised anymore that rightwingers who profess to be Christian, who claim to hold ethics and decency in high regard, nonetheless worship Donald Trump, the life he has led, and the priorities he has based his life on --- the relentless pursuit of profit, money, material possession, and the pursuit of women young enough to be his grand daughter. My mama told me there were a lot of fake, phony "Christians" out there, and damn was she right!

Now it is McMaster's turn. Mad dog out, Bolton in. Bolton is a crazy war mongering old neocon. Getting ready for war I guess. Trump refused to bring him on earlier because of his bushy moustache. Hope that report is wrong.
