Could be, they are in a difficult political situation...... Bravery, courage etc are words rarely ever used to describe members of the senate or politicians in general..

Trump is still hoping for an uprising in Jan, hopefully they forcefully oppose any such thoughts or actions.

I did a little searching on the Jan 6 bicameral session of Congress to hear the results of the Electoral College. To my understanding nothing is required of Congress other than seeing the results. They don't have to approve or accept the results. They are simply hearing them. If Congress does nothing more than that, the president-elect is sworn in on the 20th. Congress would have to act to stop the inauguration, and it would have to pass both houses. Since Democrats hold a majority in one house, that's not going to happen.

So it doesn't matter if the seditious Republicans are seated despite their fascism. (And I have no doubt they don't realize that what they have done is fascist.) Neither does Trump, for that matter. I don't think he cares. He just wants to stay in power any way he can. Laws and Constitutions mean nothing to him. He totally does not get the big picture of why it is so important that we have and support these institutions, and neither do his most ardent followers.

It has been scary that he has tested all these boundaries, but we can now feel reassured that they held. Even when someone like him throws everything he's got at them. That's actually a good feeling to know they are that sound.
