"The latest release from WikiLeaks, a collection of emails supposedly hacked from the account of Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, is getting very little public attention due to the fact that it contains nothing particularly scandalous to begin with, and the fact that it was released just as Donald Trump’s campaign was imploding in a sexual assault scandal. But those who have examined the Clinton email dump have found something fascinating: several of the emails aren’t real, and aren’t even good forgeries.

Malcolm Nance, a U.S. intelligence expert and MSNBC analyst, has issued what he’s calling an “official warning.” He’s reporting that the emails in question “already proving to be riddled with obvious forgeries” and goes on to add that they’re “not even professionally done.” Nance announced his conclusion via Twitter just a few hours after the supposed emails were released."

An official within Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign appeared to have discussions with sources inside the Department of Justice (DOJ) about ongoing open records lawsuits regarding the former secretary of State’s emails, according to an email released on Tuesday.

In an email from May 2015, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said that “DOJ folks” had “inform[ed]” him about an upcoming status conference in one of the lawsuits regarding Clinton’s private email setup.

The information about an upcoming court event would have been public knowledge and open for all to attend. And it’s unclear whether the people Fallon spoke to at the Justice Department were officials who regularly communicate with the public.

However, the fact that Fallon — a former spokesman with the Justice Department — remained in contact with anyone from the department is likely to renew allegations that the Obama administration maintained an especially cozy relationship with Clinton’s presidential campaign.

The spokesman would not comment on whether it was appropriate for Clinton campaign aides to communicate with DOJ officials while investigators tried to determine whether she had mishandled classified material on the personal server setup she used when she was secretary of State.

The message in question is a May 2015 email from Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon, who told other campaign aides that “DOJ folks” had informed him about an upcoming conference in an open records lawsuit related to Clinton’s private email server.

That suit is separate from the FBI's federal criminal probe, which concluded without charges against Clinton or her aides.

Republicans pointed to communication between Fallon and officials from the Justice Department, where he used to work, as evidence that the administration was in cahoots with the Clinton campaign.

Clinton's opponent in the presidential race, GOP nominee Donald Trump, called the report “unbelievable.”

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus accused the Justice Department of giving the Clinton campaign “inside information about an ongoing investigation into her email server,” even though information regarding an upcoming court conference would have been public knowledge.

Still, Priebus said, the revelation shows that “instead of facing consequences for her actions like others have, she’s been protected at every turn by the Obama administration.”

The Fallon email was part of a trove allegedly stolen from Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and posted Tuesday on Wikileaks.

“I am not going to comment directly on the stolen emails of a private citizen," Earnest said.
