Anyone know much about the Poconos? I am taking the family for a ski/cabin week in the snow.

Oh, my family used to have a second home there. My dad loved it. Where are you skiing, Shawnee?

That or Camelback. My kids are 2.5 and 1 so they will not be skiing, but we will go tubing, horseback riding and dog sledding. My wife and I will get to ski one or two days.

Oh Camelback, that was the one that I used to love to go to. The ski lounge is much better there. Or, it used to be. You're going to have a great time. The food in the poconos leaves much to be desired. There were a couple of restaurants we used to go to in town, I think one was called Snuggler's Cove, but it's hard for me to remember. There is one great restaurant outside of the Poconos in Paradise Valley, but otherwise, it's very bland. But it's so much fun it doesn't matter.

There is no real skiing in the Northeast. That "snow" is really ICE. Have fun with that.

Ive heard that, but I had a good time skiing in West Virginia once, nuthing like Aspen... but more kid friendly and bank account friendly.

I am just poking fun at the coasters.

The northeast is a good place to learn to ski. If you can ski on that crap, you can ski just about anywhere.

im going to drive the long way and stop there for few days in MAY on way down to VA for my nephews HS graduation. Be sure to post back what u liked about it so I can get an idea what to do.

I went 25 yrs ago and passed on the $25 ski lesson.
IF you can water ski you can snow ski right.
WRONG
VERY NICE SNOW

I was an amateur snowboarder when I was young and bones were rubbery. Gave up the risky stuff after I landed a 20foot jump and my binding snapped thus spiral breaking my arm requiring surgery and suffering a concussion and smashed up head and face.

Now i just ski/snowboard for fun. Risky sport for injury if you dont know what your doing.
