Yes - when the culprit is illegal they press will either not give his legal status or flat out lie and say he is legal.
Along the same lines as least around here when blacks do crime we are often not told, we wont get a name of the perp either because often you can sense a black name. We might get intimate details of the car the perp was driving but the only detail of the perp we will get is "a man". How long we even get that given trans ideology IDK. Pretty soon I think all we will be allowed to know is "someone". There does not seem to be the same problem with identifying perps as white.
