2. Logic Contradictory; inconsistent.

If you’re vaxxed, you’re more likely to be killed by lightning than die of COVID: study

The important thing is the vaccine saves lives. And therefore, the lack of vaccines are killing people. This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

They are overstating their claim. The vaccine is very good, but not that good. And no study makes the claims they make. The author is using the study to make these claims, but studies do not make claims like that.

The basic numbers are about 500,000 people who are unvaccinated are dying a year, 25,000 people who are vaccinated are dying a year, and 50 people are killed by lightning. 25,000 is bigger than 50.

The 150,000-to-1 odds of a COVID death are even longer than the odds over your lifetime of dying in an earthquake or being killed by lightning.

We can judge the current chances of deaths from Covid, but have no idea what the chances are over a lifetime. Comparing current risks to lifetime risks is the worst apples to oranges comparison.

At this point appeals to authority mark you as a CHUMP. Notice your flailing.

We keep coming back to the fact that the vaccine reduces the chances of death from Covid by 95%, with no provable increase in risk. When few people had gotten the vaccine, you could argue that there might be an unknown risk... Billions of people have gotten the vaccine, and they cannot find a risk yet.

This has become like smoking. The unvaccinated are like the smokers who sometimes still argue that smoking does not cause cancer. You might as well argue the world is flat.

The important thing is the vaccine saves lives.

There is ZERO proof that this is true dimwit. :palm:

And therefore, the lack of vaccines are killing people.

Covid isn't killing people any more than the common cold or the flu. They are dying due to other health issues complicated by the virus. Be less gullible and stupid. :palm:

This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

This is a laughably stupid claim considering the overwhelming evidence that the shots do not prevent infection or transmission. Do you live in a cave with a TV stuck on MSNBC?

They are overstating their claim. The vaccine is very good, but not that good. And no study makes the claims they make. The author is using the study to make these claims, but studies do not make claims like that.

Now you're just lying your dumb ass off and looking like a moron. :palm:

The basic numbers are about 500,000 people who are unvaccinated are dying a year, 25,000 people who are vaccinated are dying a year, and 50 people are killed by lightning. 25,000 is bigger than 50.

More bullshit. You seem to be quite full of it. :palm:

We can judge the current chances of deaths from Covid, but have no idea what the chances are over a lifetime. Comparing current risks to lifetime risks is the worst apples to oranges comparison.

flail (flāl)
n.

To wave or swing vigorously; thrash: flailed my arms to get their attention.
To move vigorously or erratically; thrash about: arms flailing helplessly in the water.
To strike or lash out violently

We keep coming back to the fact that the vaccine reduces the chances of death from Covid by 95%, with no provable increase in risk.

That's a bullshit claim. The actual fact is that not being Obese, over 70 or having diabetes significantly reduces the chance of death, from a VARIETY of influenza. :palm:

When few people had gotten the vaccine, you could argue that there might be an unknown risk... Billions of people have gotten the vaccine, and they cannot find a risk yet.

More people have died under Biden's watch than Trumps. Biden has had the benefit of the shots from the start of his presidency. It's laughably stupid to claim that the shots have worked to reduce possible death, infection or transmission. Much like shutting down businesses and masking.

You have to be a mental case to keep parroting what hasn't worked in two years.
:palm:

This has become like smoking. The unvaccinated are like the smokers who sometimes still argue that smoking does not cause cancer. You might as well argue the world is flat.

Another moronic analogy. You seem to be quite full of them. :palm:

half-wit
noun

As I have stated all along, with time, the truth and facts will finally come out proving what a lying farce Fauci and the cabal of shills for big Pharma really are.

If you’re vaxxed, you’re more likely to be killed by lightning than die of COVID: study

So you are claiming that vaccination saves lives... AND that Fauci is lying when he says vaccination saves lives?

So you are claiming that vaccination saves lives... AND that Fauci is lying when he says vaccination saves lives?

No halfwit; I am saying that the shots are doing NOTHING to save lives other than a placebo and Fauci is a lying dumbass.

Grow a brain.

So you are claiming that vaccination saves lives... AND that Fauci is lying when he says vaccination saves lives?

What?

That is not what the highlighted portion says.

It is talking about 'odds'.

The article used the statistics from the CDC to (apparently) show that if you are vaccinated? The odds of you dying of Covid-19 are lower than the odds of you getting killed (or hit - not sure which) by lightning.

There is ZERO proof that this is true dimwit. [/size] :palm:

You started this thread with an extreme statement that vaccines save lives, and now are claiming there is no proof of it? You sound silly.

We know that being vaccinated reduces deaths by 95%. Those are hundreds of thousands of real lives being saved. It is not quite reducing it to the chances of dying from lightning, but it is a huge reduction in deaths.

Covid isn't killing people any more than the common cold or the flu. They are dying due to other health issues complicated by the virus.

A million extra deaths in the USA were all caused by other health issues? Where were those extra health issues two years ago? People did not suddenly get overweight two years ago. The only thing that changed two years ago was Covid.

There could be a point made that the 95% reduction is greater than it seems. Most of the vaccinated who die had months left to live without Covid. Most of the unvaccinated who die had years left to live, if not decades. The unvaccinated are losing a lot more than 20 times more life time by not being vaccinated.

Of course, the threat of COVID is greater for unvaccinated adults, but why should their personal decision to take that risk arouse so much angst among those who are safely vaccinated? The original argument for vaccine mandates — that they were necessary to stop the spread — is obsolete, now that it’s clear that vaccination doesn’t prevent reinfection and transmission. Even if vaccines might slow the spread, they won’t prevent the virus from eventually reaching everyone. In any case, the risk to the vaccinated is so low that there’s no justification for forcing everyone else to be jabbed.

The actual fact is that not being Obese, over 70 or having diabetes significantly reduces the chance of death

Yes, and being vaccinated reduces the risk by an additional 95%. There is no argument here for not being vaccinated. If you are over 70, you want to reduce your chances of dying by 95%, because you are of super high risk. If you are under 70, you want to reduce your chances of dying by 95%, because you want your chances to be even lower.

It's laughably stupid to claim that the shots have worked to reduce possible death, infection or transmission.

It is very well established that the vaccine reduces death by 95%. It also appears to reduce transmission by 50%, but those numbers are less definite. The death numbers are very ironclad. There is no doubt that vaccination reduces death.

You have to be a mental case to keep parroting what hasn't worked in two years.

Vaccination has worked... For those that get the vaccine.

Of course, the threat of COVID is greater for unvaccinated adults, but why should their personal decision to take that risk arouse so much angst among those who are safely vaccinated?

Why should we try to save millions of Americans' lives? Because it is the decent thing to do, and because it saves our society money.

The sad fact is we are losing interest in saving your lives. At this point, I say enjoy your Covid, meth, and whatever else is killing you.

The original argument for vaccine mandates — that they were necessary to stop the spread — is obsolete, now that it’s clear that vaccination doesn’t prevent reinfection and transmission.

The vaccine reduces the spread by 50%. That does not appear to be enough to stop the pandemic completely, but it would be enough to save a lot of lives.

Even if vaccines might slow the spread, they won’t prevent the virus from eventually reaching everyone.

"Slowing" means less spreading. It means that every wave will infect less people, and that will mean lives saved.

In any case, the risk to the vaccinated is so low that there’s no justification for forcing everyone else to be jabbed.

The risk being very low is no justification for trying to get everyone to have a lower risk? It is like hearing someone argue that the risk to people not playing Russian roulette is very low, therefor people should play Russian roulette.
